Re: OTTAWA DOCTORS BEHIND BREAKTHROUGH M.S STUDY

From what I read this is HSCT. There were not many details in the article and I don't know if it is different in any way.

Re: My 1 Year post HSCT update

Pesho--What happened in your pursuit of treatment? Well, found a doctor and battling government health agency at the moment to allow the procedure. And we are just after elections and no one is paying attention. Otherwise it is illegal to perform HSCT for MS, although it is done for other condition...

Re: My 1 Year post HSCT update

Your progress is very good reallyreally. 3.5 points EDSS for 14 months is more than good, usually they say 3 points for a period of 2-3 yars :). Hope more people get the procedure and to become more common.

Re: Stem Cell Treatment Testimonials

Talked with the doctor again and we got things moving and it is going to be myeloablative hsct. I would prefer non-myeloablative, but they are not willing to perform it and probably have no experience with it. This is too good to be true to be honest and I just can't wait a few more months to get th...

Re: Stem Cell Treatment Testimonials

I found a doctor in my home country that is willing to perform HSCT. There is some bureaucratic drawbacks to overcome, as this is not an approved treatment here and it might get tricky. Good point is the price, around 10 000 - 15 000$ because my insurance will cover the hospital stay and probably so...

Re: (HSCT) promising as MS Therapy

Was looking at clinicaltrials.gov for Dr.Burt trial, and I see it is terminated?: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT0 ... sct&rank=7
Anyone know anything about this, I don't see any reason mentioned?

Re: Brain Atrophy After HSCT Treatment

Well yeah, in patients with SPMS with median EDSS 6.0..... Doctors keep saying the HSCT is best for RRMS, not the progressive forms. And if you keep reading the study you will see some interesting conclusion: "Although these observations need to be replicated by assessing MR imaging scans from ...

Re: Push for Australia to provide multiple sclerosis treatme

I have the same problem in Bulgaria. It turns out that HSCT is performed on a regular basis here..., for other conditions. And by law I cannot even pay for the procedure to be performed in a hospital because it is not a recognized treatment for MS?!? They make like 30 or even more HSCT's in just a s...

Re: Belgium, 9 months after diagnose. trial ocrelizumab/Rebi

I've red some reports for the Ocrelizumab trials yesterday. They mention that there is not a single active lesion in the patients on the drug, and very few relapses. Let's hope that it is all true :). Well, I might be wrong. I feel my left leg а bit numb:(. Going for a check in the morning, hope I ...

Re: Stem Cell Treatment Testimonials

This is a huge difference. In Dr.Burt's trial excluding criteria is EDSS less than 6.0 and RRMS only, generally people still in good condition. In India they take almost anyone, it is not known in what condition the poor woman was.

Re: Stem Cell Treatment Testimonials

SLOV8213, the study you mention is from 1999. They don't use radiation anymore and treatment is focused on healthier patients now, not as a last hope. Total mortality rate is less than 1% which cannot be said about any other treatment at the moment.

Re: George HSCT risk factors

Hi, can you provide this study that you are citing? And I believe you are talking not only for MS patients, but mainly for cancer treatment and I think the protocols are different. Also what is the life expectancy without the treatment and on crab drugs?

Re: FDA approves stem cell clinical trial For multiple scler

I realize there are many people with MS who are suffering and for whom today’s conventional medicine has too little to offer, but at least for now I believe that stem cells are not the answer. The risks from stem cell interventions for MS today such as infection, cancer, pulmonary embolism, and wor...

Re: weight lifting

I have long believed in the concept of the 30 minute window. Having a protein drink immediately after working out makes sense to me. http://www.thatsfit.com/2007/10/11/the-30-minute-post-weight-workout-window/ THX1138 I know about post workout and I take a scoop of egg protein and creatine. The pro...
