Caring for the disabled or elderly

Ever since I was Dxed with MS I've thought about what my final years would be like. Now I'm 71 and I need a walker to get around. My wife is 69 and has arthritis. It would not be fair to put the burden of caring for me on her. I also have no desire to spend my final years in a nursing home nor would...

Vesta
That was a great post. Thank you that.

BTW This is just my opinion but I think the people who obstructed the use of hydroxychloroquine may have cost the lives of thousands of people. This is akin to murder. They should be held accountable.

Re: Brain chip

I am someone who is normally leery of such things for fear someone with evil intentions might be able to take control of my body. But I would do this in a heartbeat.

Brain chip

Elon Musk on Friday unveiled a working prototype of his firm’s much-anticipated brain-implant device — which the billionaire tech tycoon believes can cure everything from blindness to quadriplegia. Link This technology isn't ready yet but it may be in the future. Musk said this is a long term goal. ...

Re: COVID-19: Outpatient 5 day treatment

He said he has been treating patients since last Thurday so that means maybe a week at most. That's not enough time to draw any conclusions. That's not convincing. However there are other studies that show positive results for hydroxychloroquine. The problem now is you can't get it. I asked my docto...

Re: Baclofen- friend or foe?

For the record I should mention the other things I'm doing which seem to help:
No Alcohol
No caffeine
Cut down on salt and sugar.

Re: Baclofen- friend or foe?

I've been taking Neuro-Mag Magnesium L-Threonate 144mg at bedtime since 7/25/20. It seems to be working. I'm having much less trouble w/ spasms than before. And I reduced the dose from the recommended 144 mg to 96 mg. Also reduced the dose of baclofen from 40mg to 30.

Baclofen- friend or foe?

I've been taking Baclofen for many years to reduce the muscle spasms I get in my legs at night. The spasms can keep me awake all night sometimes. I started with 10 mg daily at bedtime but slowly increased to 40 mg. I increased the dose from 20 to 40mg about 1 week ago. It definitely helps reduce the...

Help for muscle spasms in legs

I get muscle spasms in my legs at night which can keep me awake all night. I found one product that helps. It's not a cure but definitely helps Magnilife relaxing leg cream
It only lasts a few hours so I wait until the spasms start, usually around 3:00 AM. Then I apply it to my leg.

Re: EMF

So it seems there is a correlation between EMF and neurological disease. But a correlation does not prove cause and effect. I'm not saying EMF is not to blame. I'm just saying we shouldn't jump to any conclusions yet.

Re: Best Bet Diet from movie Living Proof

I'm not arguing against any of the MS diets. I've tried most of them. I'm just pointing out that they are difficult to stick with. My wife found a gluten-free spaghetti which is pretty good. But the gluten-free pizza we tried was not quite as tasty as cardboard. I don't think the diets worked for me...

Re: Best Bet Diet from movie Living Proof

By all means try any diet you like. They can't hurt you... except maybe for starvation. You will probably find that they eliminate most foods you like. For me the gluten-free part eliminates pizza, spaghetti, sandwiches, macaroni, toast, pancakes, waffles, french toast and most canned soups. The low...

Re: Do Noise and Crowds Affect You?

Loud noises don't bother me too much unless it's ear-piercing load. I don't like walking in crowds because my balance is really bad and I am afraid of being knocked over. For the record I have PPMS. Its been 22 years since the Dx. My self assessed EDSS score is 6.5. I don't take any of the DMDs, but...
