Hi Erika, Thanks for the update. Glad you haven't had anymore relapses - that is definitely something. xxxx - that is interesting. Slow flow still being an issue after liberation is maybe a factor for many people that remain stable rather than improving. Another point that shows there are many facto...

Cutting Balloon

Hi Dr Sclafani,

I am going back to Poland on Weds as I am sure I have restenosed.

I have noticed on the email that they are now using cutting balloons, would you use these and what are the benefits/disadvantages?

Thanks

Claire

I think this is really interesting.

I was just considering why it is that many more women appear to clotting than men. I thought may be I had just missed something but perhaps I haven't. If anyone can shed some light?

I will have a research myself.

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply!! I was at a show jumping competition and while going over a jump and stood up in my stirrups my stirrup leather snapped. My horse kept going and I landed on the floor in a sitting position on my backside, sending this searing pain directly up my spine, I was so lucky ...

Hi Dr Koontz, I have a question if you don't mind. I now have SPMS and real balance issues, using a stick to walk and some days should probably use a chair. I had a riding accident about 17 yrs ago (I was 20) and crushed the vertebrae in my lower spine (lumbar region). I was numb for a day but thank...

Hi Mags,

I refused the catheter and managed just fine, but now that you are only laying down for the 6 hours it should be even less of a problem?

Hi Mags, Glad you are going back. Me too!! 3rd November. I've been in touch with someone over there at the moment and it seems the Euromedic team have made some real improvements. For example, they are starting the operations earlier in the day and only making you lie down for 6 hours. Also, they ar...

I relapsed severely, developing new symptoms. I know that I restenosed before I left the hospital as the immediate improvements of better cognition and spasticity disappeared on the morning I was flying home from Poland. I immediately had a relapse and so it was very obvious.

Thank you. I shall mail her again first thing Monday!!

I was very clear though about wanting to stay for the op, which at that time she said was fine. As for many of us I can't afford to keep 'nipping' over to Poland although I appreciate in the UK we're a lot close than some!!

I've been told to book a weeks stay so as I can be slotted in if needs be. I had only balloons before and wonder if they will listen to my pleas for stents!!...
