Re: MS bone marrow stem cell trial to begin
Sorry squiffy2 for this critical note, and no offense meant, but the reporter has gotten the concepts of "repair, halt, reverse" all mixed up. Repairing damage is a whole different concept to halting progression. I can hardly see how "halt" can happen without fixing the underlyin...

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status
+6 month update: You may have noticed that I’ve remained silent for a while. I have not reported my progress for 2 months now. This was because there was nothing much to report. While the chemo side effects were incrementally improving, it was impossible to tell the difference between residual MS sy...

Re: Stem cell promise for multiple sclerosis
Though the study identifies molecular markers in a single shot, the question is how far the information is valuable since artificial progenitor cells generated may not be phenotypically similar to a primary progenitor cell isolated from the brain, Das says. Another step in the right direction, but ...

Dear Moderators, please could you remove the commercial content from 'Stem Cells / 'off topic(heart failure)'? Thanx, Asher

In the 'stem cells' forum there is a newbie called 123123. This is advertising and has nothing to do with MS. Thx, Asher

Thank you squiffy2, whatever the outcome, I'm glad to see that progressive MS is getting on the agenda.

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status
NHE, I think most people on this section of the forum would appreciate it if you would take your input on the science behind MS back to the CCSVI section. You cannot convince anyone here of its validity Agree 100%. Please, please let's not confuse facts and fantasy, controlled trials and opinion in...

Asher was 48 and was branded young by the prof. that oversaw my HSCT at the Heidelberg university hospital, Germany.

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status
HSCT and other stem cell treatments may be the best hope for repairing damage, Thank you drbart. To set the record straight, HSCT is not a stem cell treatment but a stem cell transplantation of own stem cells to restore an Immune system that was wiped out following chemotherapy. This treatment is d...

Re: tough run in with my neuro's office
Shucks, I'm trying hard to figure out what exactly your Q. is? Read George's post on affordable HSCT option. What are you waiting for? There will come a point where damage is only partially, if at all, reversible. Time is not on our side Chuck, and getting there is no guaranty you'll admitted to Dr....

Re: Stem cells and primary progressive MS
I'm especially interested in HSCT and PPMS because I am currently a suspected PPMS patient and, at 20 years old and my whole life ahead of me, I am determined to stop at nothing to prevent further progression. So far I am EDSS 2.0 and my physician suspects I may have had PPMS for years. Go for it M...

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status
Asher, my experience tells me that great improvements can be achieved with exercise. It is essential for you to be stubborn and determined to improve your overall condition, and it will be better, you will see. Listen to your body, do not push over the limits, consult experts…but if you want progre...

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status
A 4 Month Report Before starting to speak of myself, I want to wish Stella a speedy recovery from her unfortunate ordeal. Her story is a reminder that however rare these cases may be, HSTC remains a serious procedure that does not come without risk. Not a reason to write it off as an option, but a g...
