Re: Study finds age-related effects in MS may be reversible

Maybe I'm a little slow on the uptake this morning, but are they saying the patient would use their own cells? If that is the case, that would be great!

If it's strictly a surgical procedure, big pharma would be out of it.

The only concern is the time line from mice to humans.

Re: Anne Romney

selkie, Why do you seem to get upset when people believe that different things have helped them? You're upset because prayer doesn't work for everyone? I cannot find the original video that started this thread, but read the link to the article I posted earlier...she also did steroids, acupuncture, r...

Re: Anne Romney

Skyrocket,

Welcome to the board.

Very good to hear your daughter is doing so well. Is she doing anything else besides riding?

Your insight into how and why horseback riding works makes perfect sense. Thanks for the input!

Re: Anne Romney

I watched her interview as well. I don't think they were trying to say her reaction was normal to ms; it was just her response. May I ask why you feel their out of touch? Because they have money to afford an elevator? Because they found a successful treatment early on? Because she's not deterioratin...

Re: Anne Romney

Here is a link to an article that goes into more details. http://www.equisearch.com/horses_riding_training/english/dressage/romney_070505/ She was on intravenous steroids for six months, then did acupuncture, reflexology and yoga. She talks about her love for riding helping her get of bed. I respect...

Re: MS how did started, how long to dg?

LR1234, I am so sorry you had to go through all that testing and uncertainty for so long. When I was diagnosed in 84 I went into the hospital with numbness in my torso. I had a LP, MRI and that eye test (sorry, forgot what it's called); I was diagnosed within a week with "probable ms". The...

Re: An observation...

NHE, Great observation...I personally appreciate the breakdown by percentages! I have contacted them a few times over the last 20+ years; the only thing they offered were books and tapes. I'm sure they do more, (aside from grants, etc.) but I have found them pretty much useless. Just my opinion. M P...

Re: Hello

Welcome Elizabeth,

This board is a great source of support, ideas and success stories.

I was diagnosed in 84' when my son was one year old and danced with him at his college graduation party in 05'.

I think euphoniaa's prescription for a healthy lifestyle sums it up perfectly!

Re: i have a local client!

You could call three or four, pretend to be a potential client, ask their experience, fees, what you get for the money, etc. and then average it out. You have to keep in mind that you probably have more knowledge and research behind your recommendations than the majority of practicing nutritionists....

JL,

Excellent news!

Since that was last night, I hope it went well.

Regarding fees...consider calling nutritionists in the area and see what they charge?

I have learned the implications of vitamin deficiencies, the importance of diet (including anti-inflammatory factors) and so much more. What is even more impressive is the fact that you substantiate your...

Re: HELP! MS symptoms only appear in hot weather

VQ,

This may sound like a stupid question, but I'm not familiar with NHS policies.

Are you able to get a MRI without it being ordered by the NHS or is it cost prohibitive to do so? Could a neuro order it under the guise of "probable ms"?
