Re: Dantrium
Hi NHE, I believed I was on a version of Dantrium made by Pfizer. The problem is I don't know how or when they acquired the formulation. They certainly did not invent it. In December, I was switched to a product made by a Netherlands headquartered company called Norgine. The box has a sticker label ...

Dantrium
Hi, If anyone is on, or is thinking of using, Dantrium this might be useful. The background - In 2016, after a big attack a year or so earlier, I was offered an antispasticity medication called Dantrium. It is synergistic with Baclofen but works by targeting a receptor in muscle called the Ryanodine...

Re: Twitching and now upper leg Muscle spasms in morning
Hi, The other thing to check is whether you have some tightness in the lumber region. A good remedial masseur can relieve that. So can dry needling (like acupuncture but it targets trigger points where the muscle is abnormally tight). A referral from a sports medicine doctor should point you to the ...

Re: Twitching and now upper leg Muscle spasms in morning
Hi, The first rule is to look for something obvious. I would think an MRI of your brain and spinal cord, rather than the tests you had, would give you a definitive answer on whether the CNS is a matter for concern. Negative results for the tests you had are a good thing but nothing beats an MRI for ...

Re: Is this MS Hug and other questions
Hi, Well something is going on.That shaking hand is called an intention tremor. The closer you get to the target, the more likely that it shakes. (That doesn't necessarily mean MS though) What the neurologist wants to know will be all the things you've detailed here. He will then undertake a series ...

Re: MS
Hi Judy, The important thing is to clearly describe what your symptoms are, not assume they point to MS. You can mention that you wonder if that is what you have, but testing is the only way to find an answer. Many things have similar symptoms. What they add up to is the question. At this time of ye...

Re: MS
Hi Judy,
MS is a tricky disease. The symptoms are varied and even the experts can sometimes make an incorrect diagnosis.
Have you considered seeing a neurologist?

Re: Temporary hand paralysis years ago. MS?
Hi, With luck, he will take you seriously. He should do some very simple tests of your coordination and reflexes (nothing to do with scans) and probably send you for an MRI of your brain and spine. That will give him a very clear set of objective results to work from. The results could go in many di...

Re: Does this sound like MS or not? (LONG Story)
Hi, This is all getting a lot more complex. The normal practices of the medical profession dictate that they look for one thing at a time. A cholecystectomy produces its own set of post operative issues. e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hw4MdZQYCwY . Possibly they are sending you to a rheumatolo...

Re: Does this sound like MS or not? (LONG Story)
I was 37 when I was diagnosed but I'd had symptoms for years. Referring to age and ignoring your history is a useless approach. When you have decent attack the MRI can show lots of small lesions. Most resolve but the size is irrelevant. You have abnormal signs on an MRI scan. You may or may not have...

Re: Does this sound like MS or not? (LONG Story)
Hi, You are really being messed around. Obviously, something is not right. If what you say about your primary care provider is correct, then that's not impressive at all. Based on what you have said, I would be finding another doctor. I can't say what your condition is but you have enough symptoms t...
