This type of experience -- the careful preparation, the research, the ability to provide accurate information where there had been assumptions or hearsay -- this is what will leave a positive impression. It is great that you were able to maintain your dignity and respectfulness, on both sides, it so...

I forgot I said I would say something about IVIg. It works great for a certain subset of people, but not for others. You would know on the first infusion if you were going to benefit from it. From the people I know, it seems to be effective for people who are having a very active and disabling cours...

Just want to add a few more points. :-) It is common for lesions to come and go. My sympathy -- it feels awful to think of all of that going on in your brain. My first MRI showed tons of lesions. My next one, two months later, showed even more lesions, and in different places. I was completely freak...

Another fascinating point is that many people seem to be able to pinpoint exactly when it happened, to the minute. This makes me think of how MS flare-ups happen too. (Obviously this is not how it happens for progressive MS but data would capture which populations had which results.) I fanatsize abo...

Like everyone here I must make the disclaimer -- not a doctor, just someone with the ever-present holes in the brain and a supreme interest in figuring out what to do about it. :-) Welcome. Love seeing a couple working together in this. Trust your own instincts, do your own research, and own your ow...

Yes, it was my computer being weird. It is haunted. Any time someone gets relief it is a wonderful thing. It is clear that everything is easier, and the happiness shines through. You are lucky that there are physicians willing to try being pioneers. Best wishes for the most positive outcome possible...

All right, to further complicate things, the d-dimer is also high in some people who have MS when they are having a relapse -- and also in other conditions. So a high d-dimer does not necessarily mean that there is thrombosis. a few links http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-dimer http://www.labtestsonlin...
