Re: Is HSCT the answer?

I would not agree with that. From what I have read about studies on HSCT it will be likely to stop the inflammation process (i.e. relapses and new lesion formation) but when it comes to stopping/slowing disability progression the data is not nearly as encouraging. This is btw. in line with many othe...

Analysis of 40 JH HiCy Patients

Treatment of RRMS with high dose cyclophosphamide induction CyclophosphamideBackground: Previous studies have described stabilization of aggressive multiple sclerosis (MS) with one-time induction therapy with high-dose cyclophosphamide (HiCy). The long-term benefit of this stabilization followed by...

I would love to see the ARR calculations to turn out to be different and in a more favourable way than my calculation :) - we will certainly have to wait for the raw numbers to be published. But then again, I think the PR machine of the pharma-company would have explicitly highlighted how to correct...

FYI, I had the JCV antibody test done. Its just blood drawn from the vein and sent to Denmark where the analysis is done. It takes about 10 days to get the results back. Unfortunately I'm positive. So this would make a potential Tysabri therapy in the future pretty risky... But especially in that re...

Do I see that correctly, that the 55% reduction in ARR (annual relapse rate) is a relative reduction? So as Rebif is considered to to reduce ARR by about 30% then (55% of 30% = 16.5%) Campath reduces ARR by "absolute" of 46.5%? This wouldn't seem too impressing to me... If my calculation i...

Hi Thekla,

in other forums I still read about patients that go to visit prof Vogl for CCSVI surgery - so he is still active. On the other hand I have not seen anything like a scientific paper of him regarding CCSVI.

While this video looks impressive at first glance, I think reality does not look like that. I mean people here on this board who got this HiCy treatment did not have these alegedly great experience. And while it is not clear what the date of that video is I think 30 patients with 20 being followed f...

I will begin to use Gilenia from 08. Feb on a "compassionate use" basis. I am going to start a new thread in the Gilenia-forum to cover my experiences with the new drug. In the previous weeks my RLS got contiuously worse and stats to be really annoying - especially during the nights. I'm g...

The cran. MRI as well as the MRI of the whole spine did not show any new lesions. My left IJV showed some re-stenosis (20-30%) but still much better compared to before the CCSVI procedure so Prof Vogl did not recommend another intervention to fix that. All this leaves me somewhat clueless - it would...

Hi JanethePain, as far as I know the report about the phase-IIb trial said that there was no statistically significant success in the Tovaxin group. This was a report that was released after the trial was completed, wasnt it? What are the positive results mentioned in the last paragraph that you ref...

Does anyone know how they are getting funding for the phase-III trial. I mean after the IIb trial there was much disappointment and the therapeutic concept itself was taken to question. What changed since then? Did they change the therapeutic concept in some way, do the only recruit a certain typ of...
