Re: Scared to talk to doctor, miserable, what is wrong with

I would say you have Bartonella. This is an infection often co-infected with Lyme and Babesia. Google and read Dr. Burrascanos's Guidelines and get educated on Lyme disease (ILADS vs IDSA) and the controversy surrounding every aspect of it....then remember the CDC just admitted (after years and year...

Re: MS or something else??

Melissa, Have you tested for Lyme, Bartonella and Babesia? Are you familiar with the controversy of these infections regarding testing, and treatment? Have you read Dr. Burrascanos's Lyme Disease Guidelines? These infections mimic MS and are often misdiagnosed for MS. You say you had an H Pylori inf...

Re: Tingling and Numbness, prompted by infection? :s

Alex, If I were you I would educate yourself on Lyme, Bartonella and babesia. These infections are often misdiagnosed for MS and sometimes when you treat one infection the other infection comes out. It takes a combination of antibiotics to treat them. I would also check out the cpn website www.CPn H...

Re: Officially diagnosed, I think

I sure hope you know about Lyme disease, which mimics MS. There is no such think as having a positive MS test, as there is no test for MS. There are in fact test for Lyme disease that miss 60%, they are not accurate. Your safest bet is minocycline which treats both MS and Lyme and is cheap, safe and...

Re: What do I do now?

A negative Lyme test does not mean you don't have it. Did she test for co-infections Bartonella or Babesia? You need to see a Lyme doctor immediately. Check your PM, I will email you a doctor close by.

Re: Is it possible that I have MS too?

MS mimics Lyme disease and co-infections babesia and bartonella. Educate yourself on these infections and the controversy in testing, treatment and diagnosis. Mainstream doctors are literally scared to diagnose it for fear of losing there licenses. Right now is primetime Lyme season. It's all over t...

Re: The Start Of Copaxone

Pretty interesting nothing on the last test. But that's why you can't trust the test and you need a clinical examination from a knowledgeable doctor. This is where you have to understand the actual test and the reason many use specialty labs that report the entire blot. I am sending you a PM with a ...

Re: Positive Lyme...ms?

I've always wondered why people come here with a positive Lyme test. Anyway, first thing you have to know about Lyme is that it mimics MS but the treatments are completely opposite. If you have MS they treat with immunosuppressive drugs and steroids which make a person with an infection worse. Then ...

Re: The Start Of Copaxone

Which lab did the test? In regards to IGM or IGG it doesn't matter there is much debate about this. A 23 on either is specific for Lyme. I have never seen an IGM WB without the listed bands. Stony Brook lab is considered a good lab to test with. But you gotta have the right doctor order the right te...

Re: The Start Of Copaxone

Does it matter which test IGG or IGM? Yes and No- the testing is inaccurate. However, IGM would signify an active infection and would require 2 bands to be considered CDC positive. IGG would indicate a past infection and requires 5 bands to be considered CDC positive. Most doctors give you both the ...

Re: The Start Of Copaxone

With all do respect to your PCP, he is clueless about Lyme and the testing. The 23 band is considered a no-brainer. You are blessed to have a 23 band as it is borrelia specific. HAVING THE 23 BAND IS BEING LIT UP when it comes to lyme and is enough to treat clinically, your doctor is afraid like mos...

Re: The Start Of Copaxone

Get a copy of the WB. Get the mino if you can but don't panic if you start taking it and feel bad. Lesions don't mean MS. Something causes lesions and lesions can be caused from infections. Learn about the wheldon protocol also- google it and do it. You need multiple antibiotics to beat it. I hope I...

Re: The Start Of Copaxone

location- check, bands- check, symptoms-check, lesions- check, the fact that you were treated with 3 weeks of doxy which means your dr. may have thought so too-check. Your dr. treated you with the standard IDSA treatment for lyme. A 23+ and 41+ band on an IGM Western Blot is CDC positive- if I were ...

Re: The Start Of Copaxone

Ummmm. You obviously don't know much about Lyme if you are here. You need to see a LLMD if you are serious about getting better. A negative Lyme test does not mean you do not have it!!! Both bands that you mention are specific to the spirochete and Band 23 is specific to Lyme. You live in PA. You ha...

Re: The Start Of Copaxone

If you choose copaxone then you might as well add minocycline as together it is a very effective combo. And you will also be treating a possible infection such as lyme and coinfections (bartonella and babesia). Are you familiar with Lyme and the controversy surrounding it. From the nytimes today. ht...
