Re: guidelines for management of patients post-treatment

I can easily agree with all the points you have made Cece. The document seems to be an attempt to put people off treatment rather than to give sensible guidelines on what to do after you have had it. As usual none of the authors especially Rubin have any experience at all to base this advice on. I w...

Re: Testimonial Request

I downloaded the suggestions you made for B12, magnesium, zinc and D3 levels and took it to my doctor when I went to request a blood test. Although I was already taking supplements my levels were on the low end. I increased my doses and my levels are all now towards the top of the range you specifie...

Re: ECTRIMS Cleveland Autopsy Study-jugular VMs in pwMS

Just a simple observation. The original study said: "The incidence of vein wall stenoses was similar in MS and controls: eight stenoses in 4 of 7 MS patients and five in 3 of 6 controls." A simple way of re-stating that would be that roughly half (4/7) of the pwms had 8 stenoses and roughl...

It is not just the analysis that is flawed. This fool has just provided feedback to his sonographer(s) that they failed to find CCSVI in any subjects. To avoid a learning effect you have to keep your sonographers blinded to the end of the study. The sonographers are now going to be thinking 'did we ...

I may not be the same as you Bender. But I had back pain which got so bad none of the medications my GP would give would touch it. I was really desperate till I tried an IR heat lamp. I mess about with old cars and I have a 3kw infra-red lamp for drying paint. I brought it into the bedroom and sat i...

Wondefulworld, the symptoms you describe are consistent with an azygous problem. When standing your blood cannot go thru the azygous so it goes thru your jugulars. When supine the jugulars should be working anyway. So you will not benefit from IBT. But you might benefit from CCSVI treatment. On sono...

Furthermore, multiple sclerosis can affect emotional and labile responses and is characterised by spontaneous relapses and remissions. I've wondered, do other people with MS fatigue have relapses and remissions of the fatigue? I've had other things come and go (numbness, eye "special effects,&...

Hello Ashnight The veins which are damaged by the compromised outflow from the brain in CCSVI are called the deep cerebral veins. They drain the area deep in the brain around the thalamus and hypothalamus. The optic nerves run through the thalamus on their way to the visual cortex. So they would be ...

Thanks Cheer. An excellent piece of news. But this bit made me laugh: "blinding of the patients was feasible: it was believed that a sedated patient undergoing venography would not, with certainty, know whether venoplasty was being performed concurrently." As many people have also reported...

CETVD again

I have been on holiday and so I missed the previous discussion of this. Apologies to those who do not want to discuss it again. Like many of us I was very disappointed with Zivadinov’s recently published paper and the change in his views since the webinar last year. There is quite a difference betwe...

Bill Code reccomended more than 3000mg of DHA and EPA from fish oil, 10,000 iu of vit D at least a month before and six months after and 3000mg of curcumin in the talk he gave in Winnipeg. He also mentioned Emu oil. Jimmylegs has also linked a study showing that magnesium helps prevent restenosis: h...

You are a tease Cece. The trailer you just posted was an excellent appetite wetter. I have been waiting for 'Cece and the Nasty Neuro' part two with baited breath.

I am expecting a David and Goliath confrontation at least.

For goodness sake tell us what happened!

I must say I am no expert in IBT although I have been doing it over a year now. The way I think it works is that it allows your vertebral veins (which go to the azygous) to work while you are lying down. So if your jugulars are not so good it helps. Your vertebral veins are driven by gravity so they...

Don’t forget about the right post-op treatment too. I would look at what Bill Code said about the effects of vitamin D and fish oil (both before and after treatment) on restenosis and healing. Magnesium too has been shown to help prevent restenosis.
