Re: MRI results - can you help?
I was finally able to find what my first MRI report that I had back in November 2010 said. The MRI found "two nonspecific punctate foci of elevated T2 and FLAIR signal...within the subcortical white matter of the parietal regions bilaterally." The radiologist further indicated, "Nonsp...

Re: Location of white matter?
Hi Kim, I hope you still monitor your email and see my comment, which is actually more of a question. I am very afraid of what the answer might be... But first, let me just tell you how sorry I am to hear that you've gone downhill since your diagnosis. I assume you have relapsing remitting MS so I h...

Re: MRI results - can you help?
Thanks, NHE. I have read that B12 deficiency can cause white matter lesions (though I didn't know it could cause periventricular lesions which are thought to be classic for MS). But can the lesions that low B12 can cause show up as enhancing with contrast?

MRI results - can you help?
Hi. I have a question about my MRI results that I'm hoping someone can help me to make sense of. My neurologist had me go in to "assess for demyelinating disease" (the MRI report said "Evaluate for multiple sclerosis"). Here are the findings of the MRI: COMPARISON: Outside MRI on...

Husband just diagnosed -- what should I expect?
Hi everyone. My husband (43--almost 44) was just diagnosed with RRMS this past Friday, April 28. Right now, he is just having occasional spasms in his feet and underneath the right side of his rib cage (he has the spasms in one foot daily). He also gets the pins and needles feelings in the same foot...

Re: Conversion of Clinically Isolated Syndrome to CDMS
Haven't posted for awhile because the first specialist my husband saw ended up not having the greatest bedside manner... He basically told my husband not to see him again unless he couldn't walk or couldn't see. So my husband made an appointment with a new specialist. Guy at Georgetown and a really ...

Re: can anyone interpret the results of my husband's VEP tes
Well, the VEP was borderline, but we just received the diagnosis yesterday... Relapsing remitting MS. It was sort of expected but I am still in a kind of shock-like state... it is an almost out-of-body feeling. It's going to take awhile for the news to sink in, I think.

Re: Where do we go from here?
Jimmylegs, all of his numbers regarding nutrition are really, really good, so I don't think that's the issue.
Snoopy, thanks for your words of wisdom. You're exactly right. We just need to enjoy our time together and, well, que sera, sera.

Where do we go from here?
Well, we've (my husband and I have) now had practically every test known to man done and we still don't have a diagnosis. I'm writing this in the hopes that someone can help us by suggesting where we should go from here. Here's the timeline of events: 1. November/December 2016: Husband notices a sco...

Re: can anyone interpret the results of my husband's VEP tes
Yeah, I have seen that site--it was one of the first I went to--as well as a host of others. It's so frustrating because one site says one thing while another says something else. Here's what I've found: From a paper from 2005: P100 latency >115 is considered abnormal. It also says that most labs co...

Re: Conversion of Clinically Isolated Syndrome to CDMS
So, my husband had his VEP test this morning. Now we just need someone to interpret the results of that test. They are as follows: Right eye: 76.5 113 149 7.46 Left eye: 83/5 111 153 7.15 Looks like normal values are: 75 100 145 With that being said, I'm going to guess these results are abnormal, bu...

Re: Conversion of Clinically Isolated Syndrome to CDMS
Thanks for the information. We weren't given the actual lab results (I asked him to retrieve them from the hospital tomorrow)... All we were told was that all of his labs came back in the normal range except for the ANA test, which, as I mentioned, was borderline +. I do know that vitamin deficienci...

Re: Conversion of Clinically Isolated Syndrome to CDMS
So, interesting result from some labs he had run a couple of weeks ago... The metabolic panel (liver, kidney, sugar, vitamin D, etc.) was normal. However, the test for connective tissue disorders that could cause changes in the white matter, was borderline + for lupus. But, as the doctor pointed out...
