Re: Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) Feedback Request
Tore, thanks for clarifying the fine motor improvements. Glad you find the reduced angle has helped. IBT was shown to be effective for people with ms long before CCSVI became mainstream. IBT improves circulation and I suspect helps to restore damaged nerves-- given that it also works with spinal cor...

Amir Here is a template for your patients to report changes and to help to identify changes they might not notice otherwise. Only a suggestion but you might find it useful: http://www.inclinedbedtherapy.com/index ... emid=30#p2

Re: Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) Feedback Request
Wow that's some slope your sleeping on, try 6 degrees or less, not surprised sliding down the bed, though a friend sleeps at this angle and loves it. Can you elaborate more on your fine motor and foot drop improvements these are very interesting developments and I'm sure the forum would like to know...

Re: Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) Feedback Request
Doctor Amir Thank you for recommending IBT. My GP also recommends IBT for his patients, he adds, the majority of my patients using IBT do not visit me any where near as often as they had previously and for me this is good news. If you decide to advise IBT for Varicose veins, could you ask for photog...

Re: J.K. Rowling
Mr Simkins retired a few years ago The trial would involve people using IBT at home and monitoring their own progress with regular check ups that would coincide with routine appointments. A good point about the quality of mattresses, something that would require some consideration, and possibly a tr...

Re: J.K. Rowling
Randomised controlled studies for Inclined Bed therapy can easily be achieved using the Crossover – over time, each participant receives (or does not receive) an intervention in a random sequence. John Simkins Former (MSRC) Manager suggested a double crossover by adding a reverting back to flat bedr...

Re: J.K. Rowling
I wish it where that simple, the majority of people will not try anything unless is has a medical stamp of approval and a quantifiable acknowledged study. How many people have read about IBT and not bothered to try it?

IBT is not an idea that don't work, it is a well thought out and proven therapy that has been shown to work for pwms!

Re: J.K. Rowling
IBT is more of a medical management technique (to manage the problem without treating) and IRs have the skills to actually treat. I am not sure who would take on researching the use of inclined beds in MS patients. There is logic to the idea of inclining beds. If it were something that could be sol...

Re: J.K. Rowling
He is suggesting it's self fullfilling. CCSVI creates interest, therefore the forum subcategory is created to discuss the subject, which appears in google searches, which attracts more people, which creates more discussion with more people. This generates more interest and on and on. Could we have ...

Re: J.K. Rowling
Cure Trying to understand your response, so you are saying is if there was no published paper then this forum would not have become interested in CCSVI? This backs up my request for assistance to establish a controlled study and to publish papers based on that controlled study. Nevertheless the huge...

Re: J.K. Rowling
Cece TIMS is a very powerful community that attracts the researchers you mention. Given the fact that the results from people trying IBT have reflected the results from the first and second pilot studies, we should at least try to establish a controlled study and I feel pretty confident that this co...
