Re: Saturated fat vers Co. oil

Take a look at the theory behind the reduction of Saturated Fats and MS. If it doesn't make sense to you then ignore it. I personally follow the Swank diet and feel better because of it. Dr. Jelinek makes a good attempt at explaining the science with references in the link below. http://www.overcomi...

Predictor of Disease Course

Interesting article that shows Cortical N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) levels can predict the disease course in MS. These levels can be adjusted with supplementation so I wonder if it is a symptom of the illness or if a correction can change the outlook? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24620975 NAA and...

Re: A new concept and treatment options for MS

I had seen these same spots just after diagnosis, now some 10 years ago but they disappeared after a while. Whoa... 6 years before my diagnosis I noticed spots in my "area" enough to have me sufficiently freaked out to see a doctor who said it is NOT an STD. That was 6 years prior to Dx b...

Re: NZ ms study

You are correct, add to that the fact that only the esters can be absorbed by the body. I know gummy bears have a TON of Fumaric Acid in them as it adds a fruit like flavour. Still the link seems very interesting. I have been taking Psorex a psoriasis medicine for almost a year. It is a mono-ethyl f...

Re: How many of you have Amalgam fillings

Of coarse amalgam contribute to MS and other neurological diseases. Utter nonsense. Remember the principle that the dose makes the poison. Only then will you understand how toxic the myths about amalgams are. Mercury is a naturally occurring heavy metal, found throughout the environment. There are ...

Re: Existing drugs

I am quite excited about the following link: http://www.bizjournals.com/sanfrancisco/blog/biotech/2014/07/multiple-sclerosis-ms-tavist-clemastine-genentech.html?page=all For a while now, I have noticed that whenever I get a cold or flu and take med-lemon (lemsip in some countries) a soluble, cheap ...

Re: Bacteriotherapy - 3 cases of MS remission

A documentary on canadian TV Gut reaction part 1 : http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/4067184.htm part 2 : http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/4070977.htm Great video watched the full 2 parts. Like one of the scientists said in the video, gut bacteria likely plays a part in MS triggering but...

Re: When do YOU think there will be a cure?

I hope they will put an end to MS symptoms in the next 10 years. I don't know that there will ever be a "cure" but symptom free would be good enough!

Re: some ramblings

I put a lot of weight in the "3 component" approach The 3 components being Genetic, Environmental and Situational. That fits jerrygallow 's Canadian example fairly well. I very much agree with this. Not one or two of the factors but all are required to trigger MS. They have actually inves...

Re: Grrr now my legs feel like concrete with pins and needle

Your regimen sounds a lot like mine Chris and I gotta say we will not kill MS no matter what diet, supplement or drugs we take. But by staying fit and healthy the relapses may be smaller and we may recover faster. Take some pride in the fact you are doing everything you can to fight the illness and ...

Re: Intermittant fasting

Maybe you can explain to me why this article telling us the doctors are killing us with their drugs should not be posted for what it is. Once again you read half the story and twist it to feed your insatiable appetite for doom... Perhaps you can post a link to the actual article instead of a “natur...

Thank you, Harry Z for stating what I've wanted to for a long time! ...As for nutrition, why not embrace it with modern medicine? If you're in the middle of an exacerbation or worsening symptoms, would you rather see a physician or eat a salad? Beats my two pair! Well Put! Why do you have to be one...

Re: MS Medication Selection

The neuro's assessment of the evoked potentials and advice that "no one should use those anymore" were new ideas to me – he is the medical professional; I am NOT. That testing never revealed valuable information in my case; it may well have been a waste of money. I agree, I had evoked pot...
