Kirsty, It hasn't changed my life that much. I drink and occasionally use rec drug. I think I get a little more dehydrated on injection nights, so if I'm drinking that night too, it's good to really remember to drink water to avoid hangovers. I chose rebif over other drug therapies in large part bec...

oreo, it doesn't seem to matter how I inject but 9/10 times it hurts. and I do get the injection site reaction marks, but they don't hurt so I ignore them. I've read all the advice here and elsewhere. I do warm the syringe up to body temp first, and I think that lessens the pain, but it's still pain...

Do I *like* these meds? Of course not. But am I satisfied with my decision to choose this med instead of others? Yes. I *like* only having to take it 3 times a week instead of every other day or daily. I don't have the side effects that plague many others, and my disease doesn't seem to have progres...

It's an "editorial" and in lieu of the abstract, here's the free first 150 words of the text: The significance of antibodies induced by therapeutically administered formulations of recombinant human interferon β (IFN-β) in multiple sclerosis (MS) has been a controversial topic since it was...

my heart goes out to you. hang in there. it more than likely will get a whole lot better. some people don't react well to rebif. I guess if I were in your situation, I'd want to know if the most recent poison (er, I mean "drug") I was putting into my body was responsible for how awful I wa...

I first noticed my Raynaud's about 3 years before my first MS symptom. I have it pretty regularly throughout the cooler months. Ironically, the shoulder seasons seem worse than winter; perhaps because I don't dress as warmly. Jimmylegs, I take my Ca/Mg supplements but not Zinc (yet...I've been meani...

I've been on Rebif 44 mcg for 5.5 years. I have stuck to the 3 times per week schedule without fail so far, although I have come close to forgetting and missing a dose. My typical schedule is M, W, Sat in the evenings. But I often change this up depending on what's going on in my social, work and tr...

Glyn, It's not bad form at all! Supportive, involved partners are a beautiful thing. I am not aware of any contraindications with any supplements while on Rebif. The Supplements and Natural Approach forums might be a good place to post your question as well. Jimmylegs could weigh in, I'm sure! Rebif...

dad23, I've been on Rebif 44 for 5 years. I did, at the beginning, get flu like symptoms for a few hours after injection, and ibuprofen used to do the trick for me. I don't suffer any of those symptoms any more so I don't take anything. every so often I'll wake up in the morning (I inject around din...

Bubba, I've been on Rebif for almost 5 years. I drink socially and haven't had any problems. No doctor has ever suggested that I abstain. I read that you are trying to decide between Rebif and Copaxone. I selected Rebif in part because of the somewhat flexible treatment schedule. Some weeks I do MWF...

Hey EyeDoc,
The only thing I would add to the discussion is that I warm the medication up to BODY temperature before injecting. It is far too painful for me at room temperature. I couldn't bear it.

Harry, I've followed your posts and felt that you were a wonderful and priceless partner for your wife. I hope you are healing from your loss. I have obtained a good lawyer as well as a good therapist. And friends bought me some acupuncture (hmmm...do I really need friends who buy me the gift of mor...

Thank you all for your replies. I have a wonderful network of supportive friends and family, but I don't think any of them really understand the undertone that MS casts on all this. I am grateful for this community because you do understand. I am indeed getting a good lawyer, as I have a lot to prot...

what is the value of a partner?

My husband is leaving me after 22 years of what I thought was a healthy and good marriage. I was blindsided by this. He feels that he has fallen in love with someone else. I do not think his reasons are at all related to my MS. Instead, I think this is a full-blown mid-life crisis complete with a va...
