Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

As mentioned here's a few shots of the posters that my Dr. presented at ISNVD 2016. There are two, one for his original protocol that has been very successful in treating migraines, currently under submission for FDA approval, and his adaptation of that treatment in treating CCSVI, which has also sh...

Re: Need two volunteers for a study in So Cal.

Apologies. This all came to a head a few days before a major family crisis, coinciding with end of school year x3. I'd rate it on the "epic" side of the scale. Just now getting back to a somewhat even keel. I haven't even spoken to him since ISNVD, let alone anything else. So, not playing ...

Re: Need two volunteers for a study in So Cal.

Just touched base with him, he is situated comfortably and can't wait to dive on in tomorrow. I asked about posting, (his papers),he asked me to wait til post conference. Fair enough. As far as updates for original volunteers, I know the one gal who was a board denizen here is pushing 3 years, and a...

Re: Need two volunteers for a study in So Cal.

FYI, my local doc who conducted this study is flying to ISNVD this morning. I got a sneak preview of the two papers he submitted, and although he was not selected as a speaker, he was invited to do a poster, and they are impressive. I'll drop him a note later as to publishing online, as it is not my...

Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

How are you doing Mark? Doing just fine thanks. Long story short, the stent okay for now where it rests. An IR familiar with CCSVI looked over my CT angio and said I could leave it or take it out. Opting for no action on this one, at least for now. There is nowhere for it to go..No sx and just had ...

Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

well it was worth it just to see Loobie and cat post! My local guy (who is not my regular Dr., just someone who found out about CCSVI thru me), is very intelligent, connected, knows my regular Dr., and has not one ounce of pretense in him. Remember, it was the longing to find something to help out h...

Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. Had another powwow with my local doc here, and will go ahead and do the consult with the IR who is university based and very familiar with both CCSVI, and stent extractions. What the main issue is besides the obvious foreign body being in unwanted location, is ...

Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

Very sorry to hear about this, perhaps this serves as a good "heads-up" to the rest of us early Stanford pioneers. I was last checked in 2012. I need to find a local vein clinic to check my stents yearly, Dr. Dake's office is inconvenient (and unwilling) to do this. I hope you get quick r...

Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

So fortunate to have a local Dr. familiar with CCSVI, here is the pathology report. Interesting times. Am on Plavix as of now just as a precaution, though not sure it does any good, can't hurt. Doggone that stuff is WAY cheaper now than back in 09! Thoughts? Glad to have this much info quickly that'...

Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

I would sent your scans to Dr. Dake ASAP. Yeah, he was the first one I called after discovering, had an ultrasound yesterday, right now a contrast CT of excellent quality, tech said it was lodged in a branch, could go no further, exactly what Dake said yesterday just seeing xrays. My local doc who ...

Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

This is truly terrifying. When was the last time your stents were looked at? I didn't think stents could move after endothelial tissue grew over it. Exactly. That is why my local doc is going to write up something to submit to ISnvd so others can find out. My last scan was here back in 2013 I belie...

Re: Notes from CureIous' at Stanford

The two fingers are pointing at the *new* location of the "missing" stent on the right side. Basically the worst case scenario happened, exactly what happened to Oliver, down the right side into the SVC, then the Right Ventricle of the heart, and I'm supposing some medically certified ange...
