Re: On Tecfidera and diagnosed with the flu on Monday;
Hi, David. Yes, I did have the flu shot. Got it back in October. I did end up going to Mexico, but not before I confirmed with my primary care physician and with my neurologist that it was safe to do so. Had a great time.

On Tecfidera and diagnosed with the flu on Monday;
DCHi all. I have a question. I was diagnosed with type A influenza on Monday and prescribed Tamiflu. Even so, I have been running a low grade (99.0-99.8 or so) fever since my diagnosis (I have had the body aches since last Friday, had a negative flu test Sunday, and a positive test Monday). Today I ...

Re: is a twitching eye a symptom?
Sorry--you had asked what form of magnesium I'm taking It is a tablet. And it is 250 mg, I think--not 500 as I posted before. Interestingly, it is one supplement that people are encouraged to take from what I've read.

Nystagmus
I have a question about nystagmus. I tend to notice mine when I am really focusing on something, like when I am reading, for example, and my eyes will jerk left to right really quickly. Sometimes they'll just jerk once or twice, and sometimes they'll go back and forth a few times before they stop. I...

weakness in arm and hand?
Hey there. Yesterday I was very tired when I arrived home from work and experienced double vision. (This was nothing unusual--I often get double vision when I get tired. The double vision started back in August and it comes and goes.) Later in the evening, I experienced what I would call "weakn...

shaky legs
Hey, all. Quick question. My office had a fire drill today and I had to walk down 18 flights of stairs. Now my right calf shakes when I stand up. This is the same leg that I usually have trouble with. Is it normal for my calf to shake? It also shakes if I wear high heels so I pretty much stick to fl...

Re: is a twitching eye a symptom?
Thanks. I actually do take magnesium--a separate supplement that has 500 mg, along with a daily multivitamin that also has magnesium. I might add that I do this per your recommendation, jimmylegs. :wink: It definitely seems to have helped with the spasms in my legs. They aren't nearly as severe as t...

is a twitching eye a symptom?
I have a question for you all... For going on three days now, my left eye has been twitching, and it is driving me NUTS! This week I think I have been excessively tired (and VERY stressed out). I know I got enough sleep last night, though... Is this an MS thing? (As I mentioned, I have been under a ...

Re: PPMS vs RRMS
My husband was diagnosed at the age of 44, but after reading more about PPMS vs RRMS, I have determined that RRMS is probably more likely (and what his doctor diagnosed him with) because he doesn't have any spinal cord lesions. I don't have any spinal cord lesions either, so that's good news as well...

PPMS vs RRMS
Hi, all. My husband was diagnosed with RRMS back in May, and I was diagnosed with the same thing in July (I know--what are the odds, right??), but my my husband's MS seems to be progressing much more quickly than mine is, and I'm worried that he might have PPMS rather than RRMS. His diagnosis began ...

Re: Do symptoms ever lessen or go away completely?
Wow! Thanks for the information! This is great and not something easily Google-able. Lol. (Although I do know a fair amount about Uthoff's Phenomenon now, including that the "hot bath" test was used at one time as a tool in diagnosing MS. Interesting.) I had the infusions after an MRI dete...

Do symptoms ever lessen or go away completely?
I have had tingling in both my legs and muscle spasms in my right leg for the past three months or so. I was put on three days of Solu-Medrol and hoped the symptoms would go away after that, but they never did. I'll be starting Tecfidera for relapsing-remitting MS in about a week or so (whenever the...

Re: just diagnosed yesterday; my husband was diagnosed in Ma
Wow! Thanks, everyone, for responding! I've been reading through all of your answers and this is really interesting! A couple of things to note about me and my husband: 1. He drinks a lot of Diet Coke, but I do only on occasion (furthermore, while I realize artificial sweeteners aren't good for you,...

Re: Baclofen and alcohol
Yeah, I haven't worked out since all these spasms started, so I have no idea how that will affect me. Maybe I ought to try something else before I get back to boxing and kickboxing.

Re: Not diiagnoised
Could be trigeminal neuralgia. That's what it sounds like to me. As for the underside of the ball of your foot, that could be related, but then it may not be. Could be the shoes you're wearing or how you're walking. If you're concerned, ask the doctor to order another MRI. Has your doctor ever broug...
