Re: US vs Canada
I managed 2 hours on the track, bundled with only my nose and cheeks exposed. I live in high-plains desert around 7000ft above sea level. My nose is a little sunburned so can I assume I absorbed significant amounts of Vitamin D?

Re: US vs Canada
I don't have a map handy but can assume much of Maine is similar latitude as Canada. I went job-hunting in Maine 30 years ago but nothing resulted.

From Dr Google: "Lectin is believed to worsen autoimmune disease in people who have a lectin sensitivity. Lectin is so resistant to being digested that it can cross over into the circulation system where it can cause damage to cells. The immune system responds to lectin by producing antibodies....

Re: US vs Canada
Arctic seafood must be different than tropical sea food. I'm being treated for MS because of my MRI. But I'm also being treated for antiphospholipid syndrome which looks a lot like MS on the MRI.

Re: US vs Canada
I don't see a conflict. Living in the north means a lack of sun which means lower Vitamin D. The Inuit eat a diet high in animal fat which is high in Vit D. If the European north ate like Inuit then maybe there would be less MS. Wait, hasn't that been shown in Finland and Sweden? I follow the McDoug...

US vs Canada
I saw a utube video that says in the U.S. 1 in 1000 has MS. In Canada 1 in 500 has MS. Another factoid suggesting distance from the equator is important.

Re: CIS? APS?
I've read that MS causes specific lesions seen on MRI. APS also causes lesions but in different areas of the brain. So maybe I have both, MS and APS.

Re: Has being dairy free helped anyone's symptoms?
I never liked milk as a kid and developed lactose intolerance as a teenager. So I don't ingest much dairy but came down with MS. I found an article looking at autoantibodies and diet. Meat or pork caused the most autoantibodies. Veggies caused the least. But cheese was just about the same as veggies.

I googled Swank 1990 diet and copied this: "Our findings indicate that a diet of 20 g saturated fat daily was best able to keep patients with MS ambulant and working when it was started before the patients’ normal abilities and activities were restricted7-under these circumstances about 95% of ...

Re: CIS? APS?
Thanks, I copied this: "When CIS is accompanied by lesions on a brain MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) that are similar to those seen in MS, the person has a high likelihood of a second episode of neurologic symptoms and diagnosis of relapsing-remitting MS. When CIS is not accompanied by MS-lik...

CIS? APS?
I vaguely remember reading that a small number of MS victims have one attack and then no more. Then saw a medical video where the doctor says it'll happen again eventually, that there's no such thing as CIS. I was diagnosed end of July, almost 6 months ago. No recurrences of the vertigo since then. ...

I get tysabri infusion once a month. Toward the end of the month I start to get mild symptoms of dizziness and olfactory hallucinations. They go away as soon as the treatment is done.

MRI dain bramage
I found a series of Ohio State lectures on MS. In this lecture someone in the audience asked whether MRI could cause brain damage. Another audience member piped in that a psychic lost her psychic abilities after an MRI, sued and won!

Re: Nystagmus
I remember as a teenager there were kids who could do that. Some were able to do it on command. A couple said it was involuntary. Nystagmus is often the result of semicircular canal imbalance. My first sign of MS was nystagmus. The room was spinning and I had to hold the wall to keep from falling. I...
