Lew, are these some of these articles you were referring to? http://sites.pcmd.ac.uk/cnrg/cupid.php http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16291891 I also came across this in an editorial I saw: the potential implications of this pathway in disease progression are supported by animal data showing that c...

I think anything with the health in general will affect the MS whether its CCSVI, flu or a surgical procedure so in my humble opinion I also think that CCSVI in itself could cause problems which could worsen the MS not necessarily that more blocked veins is a direct cause of MS. Well put. That's al...

The full article is now available online, though you might have to pay for it. It looks like it's supposed to be in an issue of Multiple Sclerosis Journal, but it's not in the current (March) issue. One reason that I wanted to read the full article was that I was surprised (and maybe a little skepti...

I was wondering: do you mean that because Dr. Arata did not respond to your email question, the assumption is that what you were asking is of no concern?

That doesn't make sense to me then. Why or how could our flow be better lying down or even equal to the healthy subjects? That was kinda the point. The authors acknowledge this is an anomalous finding: Compared to the reference cohort we detected higher BVF in patients with MS in an upright positio...

This is a gross mis-characterization. The study in which Doepp was lead author included Drs. Valdueza, Schmierer and Schreiber, all experts in ultrasonography of cerebral blood vessels ... --but they are not experts in evaluating central and extracranial veins. This is Dr. Zamboni's specialty for t...

his is an idiot proof way to show that there's something wrong....not neuros waving doppler wands around saying there's nothing there This is a gross mis-characterization. If I recall, the Beirut study set the bar very high for what would be considered a stenosis. So actual stenoses did not get counted. Valve issues were excluded, missing jugulars were excluded.... So for the 12 out of 13 late RR MSers to be found to have ccsvi stenoses (by whatever name), they had t...

Isn't the title of this thread incredibly misleading? I don't believe Dr. Zivadinov performed the ultrasound tests to determine who had CCSVI. And he is but one author listed (and the last one listed). Beirut study. 12 out of 13 people with late RR MS were found by gold standard catheter venogram to...

Lithium for Progressive MS?
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01259388?term=lithium+multiple+sclerosis&rank=1 I did a quick search to see why they would try Lithium on MS, and found this: http://www.jimmunol.org/content/181/1/338.short And an interesting video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjC-9mxjvx4 (No need to...
