For many patients, angioplasty is NOT in their best interest
I have just come across this news on angioplasty (NOT for IJV or azygos): For many patients, angioplasty is NOT in their best interest By Jenny Thompson on 11/19/2010 "The landscape of medical history is littered with procedures not in the patient's best interest." That's not just me sayin...

A neurointerventional radiologist would be a good choice for blood vessel blockages actually in the brain. For god's sake, can we really weigh what we are saying sometimes? We talk about intervention in veins in our brain, when the whole CCSVI hypothesis is not proven yet. Why not a brain surgery r...

Re: Cause of MS
Saying that the lower jugular is "close to the brain" and so "we should heed the neuros" concerning problems in those veins is just plain wrong on both fronts. My teeth are even closer to my brain, but I'm not going to ask my neuros advice about a toothache. ...Ted The hell with...

in the brain region typically the CCSVI procedure is performed on malformed jugular valves at the base of the neck, near the collar bones The upper part of the jugular seems to me quite close to the brain. My neurologist told me that there were several patients who had gone through the procedure ab...

Please spread the word on this folks... This is not just MS. I now know 5 Lyme patients with this and have all underwent successful CCSVI treatment. A few have restenosed, but they did not go after the Valves from what I hear. Test anyone with Acquired Neuro Problems labels with whatever the Neuro ...

Re: Not all Neurologists opposed to CCSVI !!!
Shall we say this Neurologist was `open minded` on CCSVI.... Maybe folks the tied is turning here slightly in Canada???? We can only hope, right................... What do we expect from neurologists? I think most of them are on the fence. They only prescribe approved treatments just like other doc...

You do not know your body any better than a doctor or a scientist does, rather in a different way. I am a CCSVI procedure veteran and it has done NOTHING to stop a slow but crippling progression of the disease. So who’s right, you or me, huh??? someone??? Errrrhhhh... Lookup ‘cognitive dissonance’ ...

Re: hey...
NOW...I will sit and wait for IR's to figure out how to safely keep the vein's open . I agree. I think it will take a lot of time until we find out whether CCSVI relates to MS in any way or not, but the key is to have a safe procedure that can be done until that happens. Unfortunatelly, there is no...

There is a huge lack of understanding statistical data - especially for risk factors. There are millions of healthy smokers, so lung cancer is an alleged consequence of smoking. That is EXACTLY THE SAME situation as with the data for smoking and lung cancer. Thinking CCSVI is an ON/OFF switch for M...

I was reading some research papers about BBB and neurovascular issues, and this paragraph really stuck out to me: "In addition to hypoxic/ischemic and inflammatory insults, the BBB can also be compromised by drugs of abuse. For example, cocaine can accelerate the progression of HIV-associated ...

It is hard to explain how CCSVI is related to MS symptoms when there are many with MS who apparently don't have CCSVI and many without neurological symptoms that do have CCSVI. It is a question what we consider safe. It is true that CCSVI operations have not resulted in any deaths so far, but we se...

Re: Baylor College of Medicine treating CCSVI
What are the symptoms or consequences of CCSVI? Proposed consequences of CCSVI syndrome include intracranial hypoxia, delayed perfusion, reduced drainage of catabolites, increased transmural pressure, and iron deposits around the cerebral veins. Iron deposition as a cause of MS received support whe...

If this is the case, then they are missing are unwilling to say the obvious implication - Dr. Zamboni's original studies on CCSVI were flawed. It is hard to explain how CCSVI is related to MS symptoms when there are many with MS who apparently don't have CCSVI and many without neurological symptoms...
