It may also help us here in Canada where we seem to go around in circles!
As an ex pat. Brit I am extremely interested in the NICE process in the UK.

Re: Can I answer your eye questions at ISNVD?
Thanks Dr Diana for asking us this question. I am not getting any answers from eye doctors here in Canada to the following. Short history - I am a female diagnosed with MS in 1997 at age 43, started with optic neuritis in left eye following cataract surgery in that eye 2 weeks before. I have always ...

Re: Canadian TV Documentary about CCSVI - Urgent Request!
Loreena, If you need to seek advice from a journalistic point of view I would like to direct you to Anne Kingston from Macleans. She is the only reporter in the national media that has done the science and attended conferences on CCSVI. Please, as a nurse and someone who has been treated, do not sen...

A group of us here in Ottawa (not sure how many) plan to be in the Gallery of the House of Commons tomorrow for the second reading of Kirsty Duncan's bill. We may not be allowed to heckle but we will be showing our support nonetheless.

The patient that Dr Sclafani treated for only Nutcracker Syndrome this time (jugulars and azygous were running freely from a previous procedure) was thought to have Chronic Fatigue before she received her MS diagnosis. This is all getting even more interesting!

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study
At a conference here in Ottawa yesterday we heard of three patients, of an enviromental doctor, who were treated for CCSVI. None of them had an MS diagnosis but had many of our symptoms and had not responded to the normal treatments. Two of them are doing very well and the third was found to have a ...

Re: Montel's announcement
Mark, It is the media that has caught on to the word Liberation here in Canada. They also use words such as "controversial", "experimental" and "cure". There is no better journalism than sensationalism - we now are seeing much less reporting because (thank goodness) nob...

Very interesting interview, well done Sharon - we have come a long way over the past two years in opening up these pathways.
One of the reasons that I have stayed a patient of the neurologist Dr F is because I belive that dialogue beats fighting or withdrawing from meaningful debate.

Re: ECTRIMS Cleveland Autopsy Study-jugular VMs in pwMS
Yes there is no way that all this is caused by hydration problems. I always drank a ton of water (yes I do have to get up to pee in the night) and both my jugulars were severely stenosed!

Re: SASKATCHEWAN ENTERING PARTNERSHIP TO ADVANCE MS RESEARCH
Cece, I don't think that doctors and technicians are nearly ready to treat and diagnose CCSVI in Canada yet. Unfortunately the delay in acceptance to the procedure means that even in the vascular field there has been little talk about it. My son is a medical student and he gives me the impression th...

I believe that Daflon 500 has the same effect as swimming in cool water,
on the legs - anyone remember the video of the man who couldn't walk until he went in the cold ocean. I also benefit from a cool water swim - vasoconstriction of lower limb veins. Unfortunately this doesn't last very long.
