Those who care DO get upset seeing us in pain and even further impaired. There is not much they can do about it and they want to fix it NOW! But it takes a while. Richard (my husband) was "beside himself" sometimes because he couldn't fix it. Now, after watching me go up and down for three...

Shell, you have my empathy AND my sympathy. Yes, I had huge pain that lasted what seemed a long time, was there all the time, and increased during pulses, and is now gone. Read this when yours gets bad and know that the sun will shine one day.

Good news, Lori. I know you are thrilled. Yes, it can be an ordeal but not doing it is undoubtedly a bigger one.

So, does this mean that with the increased B-complex (which I have been taking for 2 1/2 years) that my EDSS score would have gone to only 4.7 from 6.7 instead of the 2 (or even 1 on good days) that I have? Perhaps the antibiotics were responsible for the rest of my improvement.

As Dr R (husband Richard) says: this is not supposed to happen!

Sarah,

You are probably too tall to reach the floor, or you could do this, too.

Good signature, Sarah - I like what it says! Today I noticed that my stride is lengthening when I walk and my walking is faster and more normal than I would ever have believed it would be again. And yesterday at my 3 month appointment, I bent double with my feet together and put my hands flat (but a...

Me, too! Me, too! Overjoyed at reading this, Mamahawk! I just passed my third anniversary and today went to see my prescribing doctor who is undoubtedly still smiling broadly. So, so happy for you. You started when people should - before we are so far down the road that it seems almost impossible to...

Good question, Sarah. My score goes very close to normal on good days, but I still "walk funny" most of the time, which bothers other people a lot more than it does me. What concept do you wish to impart?

Welcome to a place to learn about MS. I, too, am PPMS and am on the same treatment that smilingface is on. I am greatly improved and have most of my lost function back.

No, Daisy, I don't mind at all, especially if it gets through the fog to the core of someone's survival instinct. The title is very real - this seems interminable, even suicidal, but as the man said when peddling Tysabri - When you get this bad, what is the death of one in a thousand?

Shell. it is easy for me to say hang on because I don't hurt any more! My pain iS ALL GONE! It took months and worked its way down my body beginning with my neck. It was truly agony, but it is all over. You have done right with your kids, and seeing you using drugs the right way is teaching them res...

Ken, I, like you, am short of time right now, so please forgive me if I missed something - which I probably did. If you have already begun the supplements, stop reading. If not, that is the first step. They are ALL good for Kim and will help her body (and yours, most likely). I probably also missed ...

When the dust settles, there are going to have to be some changes that follow the realization that so many MS specialist neurologists were dead wrong. I was examined by 2 at Chapel Hill Med Center who said I was too old (55) and had had a series of microinfarcts (small strokes) They put me on a brai...

Hi, Rob My own little contribution to your thread is to say that from my position about a year and a half ahead of the Dove is to concur with everything she said and add my opinion from that perspective. My story is unfinished at this point but I have come in to the sunshine after three years of ant...
