Wow, that was fast! I just posted like 4 mins ago... Just in case, I thought maybe I should list everything I'm taking. Everyday I take 4 grams of omega-3 from fish oils, 1 gram of Glucosamine sulfate, a multi-vitamin (Centrum performance), a calcium & magnesium with vitamin D capsule, 50mg of R...

Nose bleeds

I was just wondering if anyone has had spontaneous nose bleeds while on Avonex. Its been 3 months on avonex and in the past 2 weeks I have had spontaneous nose bleeds. Not regular nose bleeds, but ones that flow at a high rate and for a long time (3 to 5 minutes). 2 weeks ago while eating supper I h...

Hey NHE, I experience pain, exhaustion and weakness in the legs stemming from the thighs. It isn't too bad, I was just hoping I could rotate my arms into it and maybe re-gain some strength. No pharmacies in my area have the needles (1 inch with the thinner guage), but the MS alliance told me they wo...

Injecting in shoulder

I was wondering if anyone here rotates their shoulders into their injection routine, and whether they use the 1 and 1/4 inch needle or the 1 inch (or anything else). Im thinking about getting my arms into the rotation since I feel as though my legs can use a longer break between shots. Im receiving ...

Hey NHE, Im glad to hear you have been getting some unexpected benefit from the avonex as well. Im wondering how your condition has been over the past 7 years on Avonex. Any replases?... I had my first attacks in January 2007 that spread from my left foot to below my pectorals within 5 days, and the...

Thanks Ally,

I hope the course of the treatment gets better for you... BTW I have been taking advil before and after the shot and you are right. Its amazing! I get arthritic like symptoms for a day or 2, but once I take the advils it gets a whole lot better.

Take care,

Ted

Hey, Im doing pretty well so far. Side effects are inconsistent. Most of the time I'm fine, but when I do get the side-effects theyre pretty intense, but thankfully not long lived. last winter, before my first episode, I too didnt get a cold. I usually get at least 2 or 3 bad ones between december a...

Psoriasis disappearing since starting Avonex!!

Ive been on Avonex for 2 months and the Psoriasis (which is also autoimmune) I had on both elbows is going away. The surface area that was affected is 95% gone on my right elbow and 80% healed on the left. I was wondering if this occurrence has happened to anyone else, or anything similar to this. I...

I sent a video and some pics. Im not sure if it illustrates very well how it works. I tried to keep it short so that the video size wouldnt be too big to send. I may make another one!

I actually take the needle that comes with the pre-filled syringe and put that directly into the autoinjector. Mine come with the 1 and 1/4 inch needle. It wouldnt matter the size of your needle though. I wish I could show you the video so that you could see it in action. If you want, I could send y...

It is available in Canada. I got mine through my nurse that was sent (and paid for) by the MSalliance or Biogen. Im not sure what you mean by "aspirate for blood". If you mean after plunging the needle, the process by which we pull up on the plunger to check for blood, that is done manuall...

Auto-injector

I have just taken my 8th Avonex pre-filled injection today, but today was my third with the auto-injector... Wow, it is truly amazing. I was wondering if what I heard is true, that the auto injector is only available in Canada and Europe. Is this true? I figured the drug makers would make it availab...

Starting Avonex within a month

Hello everyone, I will be starting Avonex pre-filled injections very soon. I've read every single post in the forums about avonex, but I have a few questions... I wonder mostly about what is going on between the 24/48 hr side effects and the next shot. I have had 2 relapses since my first symptoms b...
