Re: new paper from Dr. Haacke on abnormal iron in MS brains
it's interesting you say that. I also had a scan (in Melbourne though) using a 3T, and they told me they could do the flow studies...so i went along. They ultimately didnt do the full Haacke protocol. The radiology centre said they lacked the software, and decided they were not going to purchase it....

Hey Cure, you can wordsmith with him in person in May 2012 ...as Dr Haacke will be visiting Australia (Melbourne definitely, Cairns definitely, Sydney likely). He'll be here for the ISMRM conference: http://www.ismrm.org/12/ and the Australasian College of Phlebology conference: http://www.phlebolog...

I think intracranial reflux is always bad ...but you'd have to ask the expert! here's another one of his cases: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aEidrPLK-Q&feature=share The story behind the story: 50 year old woman being prepared for trigeminal nucleotomy (neurological surgery into the brainstea...

Re: CCSVI in the UK
I thought a neurosurgeon who is also a CCSVI specialist could treat intracranial venous reflux? Dr Elcio Mechado has shown some pretty stunning YouTube's of treatments such as these in the last couple of weeks (but not on MS patients). Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=yzXD0R5S...

MsMezza,
would love to know who your neuro is. Mine (also in Aust) never did any blood tests...even though I didn't respond positively to the MS drugs. I'd be willing to change neuro if i found one better than mine - I've tried a few and not been satisfied.

Danirs,
what location are you at? There is an Australian doctor who treats CCSVI with antibiotic therapy (primarily aimed at treated chronic CPn - which can cause vasculitis).

Re: ANGIOGRAPHY STUDY IN MS
Dr Elcio, I have to say that I have heard of numerous people here in Australia who have been tested for CCSVI using Doppler analysis. The Doppler study indicated no CCSVI was present (and the analyst is quite experienced, trained remotely in the Zamboni Doppler protocol). Each party was fortunate en...

it's not hot here in the South
Could be congee, or the fact that eveything is upside down on the other side of the Earth.
Definitely not the Southern Hemisphere causing no MS. Us Aussies and Kiwis are in the Southern Hemisphere too ...and have a high rate of MS (get's higher the further south you go, as less sun down south)

open minded
I reckon our Aussie IRs are pretty open-minded, and will look at the facts when either this info is published, or they see for themselves (perhaps during a visit to one of the day centres using this technique). My v.good aussie doctor has definitely evolved his technique as more info has come to lig...
