Re: 2 Years Post HSCT And MS Still Stopped
I had a chance to discuss the issue with dr Burt a month or so ago. He told me that the goal was to come up with a specific treatment that would stop the disease course without undue toxicity. He believes they lympho ablative to be just that. He was very matter of fact about it.

Re: 2 Years Post HSCT And MS Still Stopped
I think that is a valid concern, I probably got this thing in my mid 20s, though I was diagnosed last year at 30. IMO, even if it stalls it for 10 or another 20 yrs and it comes back, it is the only treatment that stops progression known to medical science at this time. In 8yrs of study, folks have ...

Re: Just got out of meeting with dr burt, and now have decis
Dr. Burt told me that as well, even though it is a high chance of not being sterile, it is not a risk worth taking, so bank some.

Re: Just got out of meeting with dr burt, and now have decis

Re: Just got out of meeting with dr burt, and now have decis
Thanks George. He told me that he is not planning on doing them outside of the trial right now due to the fact that folks getting assigned to the control arm are usually disapointed as everyone wants the treatment without the risk of getting the control arm. He says that anyone getting the compassio...

Re: Going through with testing?
Dr blabanov and the others he works with at rush have a great rep. A lady I saw in the waiting room drives an hour in every month for tysabri and swears it has saved her life. He has partnered with dr burt on HSCT trials and with other folks in his office has pioneered hicy as a treatment in the tri...

Re: CCSVI Neutral or Critical Perspectives
I was in a neuro office today and read two different journal articles on how ccsvi was bunk science. Two different articles say that there Is no difference, and the first was from August of 2010. I dont understand the support if hsct and the like are actually proven to be affective. Iam not fighting...

Re: Going through with testing?
Make sure you go to a good neuro. Best advice I have ever gotten from my pcp was to drive three h rs to see the best one in my area. I spent this week in Chicago to see one of the best anywhere. Went a thousand miles for it.

Just got out of meeting with dr burt, and now have decisions
I want to preface this with the fact I recently got engaged to my girlfriend of nine yrs and am in the process of trying to figure out when to get married. The biggest impediment to sealing the deal is this damnedable illness. I have only been diagnosed for a year or so, but have been having some pr...

Traveling with coaxone?
I am flying to chicago to meet with dr burt about his trial on Monday, and since I take coaxone! I am wondering about taking it in a carry on bag on the plane. Anyone have experience with this? I don't fly often and would like any advice anyone has.
