Is the jury still out as far as uric acid? I'm wondering if inosine is still considered a good thing. Last I heard, it was still in phase II trials.

Also, in response to the question of the stenosed jugular. Yesterday I had a doppler ultrasound which showed a stenosis on my jugular. They did the ultrasound first with me lying down, completely horizontal, and then again sitting upright. The stenosis opened up when I was horizontal (and was not v...

US media coverage

I find it infuriating that no major news outlet has picked up on CCSVI in the USA. Why don't we keep a running log of who we've contacted so far. Here's mine so far: New York Times - contacted 11/30 - no response National Public Radio - contacted 1/5 - no response yet Here and Now with Robin Young -...

Most CCSVI proponents, including Zamboni believe that there is an immune system aspect to MS. From what I can gather, CCSVI may be the root cause of MS, but after years of iron buildup in the nervous system, the immune system goes haywire and starts attacking. The overexcited immune system may cause...

Conflicting opinions on some suppliments.

Sometimes it gets very frustrating - Vitamin C - lots of people feel it's helpful for MS. Now people are saying keep away, as it helps absorb iron. Zinc - many positive posts on zinc. However Dr. Hans Neiper ( calcium EAP promoter) recommends avoiding zinc. Cherries - Good anti-oxidant - however I b...

Just an update - we have been on IBT for close to 4 weeks now. No noticeable changes in my wife's mild ms symptoms, but she tells me that my occasional snoring has stopped, and late night bathroom visits for both of us have dropped from 2-3 to 0-1. Adjusting to sleeping on the tilt was very easy - t...

Multiple Sclerosis: A Self-Help Guide to Its Management - Judy Graham is also a good one
Multiple Sclerosis Diet Book - Roy Swank - the classic diet book.
Ann and Judi's MS Recovery Diet is still the best (IMHO) diet related MS book.

I agree with Fiddler - yes this forum has gone off on a few tangents in the past few months, but it's still the best reading on the web. Yes it's a little frustrating when newbies who don't quite have the feel for this forum, post questions in inappropriate topics, but that's life, and I love seeing...

I've read this letter on another thread. So I'll ask the question I wanted to ask then: Who is Dr. Ashton Embry and why do we care? Thanks Ashton Embry is not a medical doctor (he is a Canadian research geologist) who's son was dx'd with MS several years ago. Embry spent many many hours pouring thr...

I agree with cheerleader, you need to be proactive and contact interventional radiologists in your area. You will be surprised how many might be interested in hearing you out, and possibly getting involved.
