Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

I am surprised that blood thinners have not shown much impact on MS. I know that from as far back as the 50s, doctors have hypothesized microembolism and thrombosis may contribute to the pathology of MS. Trials with blood thinners didn't seem to make a difference. Then later doctors discovered that ...

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

I would like my brain cells to be protected from myelin-sensitized t-cells, inflammation, hypoxia, venous congestion, poor CSF flow, starvation, toxic build-up, whacks to the head, viruses, bacteria, and wallerian degeneration. Not a comprehensive list but if we take care of all these conditions th...

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

There are cases where trauma causes MS. Usually the MS is highly progressive with trauma. (Editing, beacause i looked it up. It was a long standing assumption that Ms is caused by head teams, but there is little evidence) I naturally meant neurological impacts of the vascular, autoregulatory and aut...

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

I really like the information from these studies you recently posted. I think obstruction and inflammation of the vascular offer another checken or egg scenario. From past readings, i remember that inflammation has been long suspected to precede infiltration. Also the inflammation itself causes demy...

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

Everything suggests that the presence of retinal abnormalities, whenever these may have occurred with respect to the recent onset of optic neuritis, carries the same significance for subsequent clinical conversion as does clinical or laboratory evidence for a lesion outside the visual system; and t...

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

I just went through a presentation by Dr Diana Driscoll. I could see the planitis as being plausible, but not the optic neuritis. It seems that she just threw in ..."and optic neuritis" without explaining how. Planitis is also most commonly associated with inflammation and autoimmune disor...

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

All nerves naturally have myelin, including the optic nerve. The optic nerve is myelinated by oligodendrocytes, like all of the nerves in the CNS. Inflammation causes the blood brain barrier to open using complex local proteases. VEGF is also created at local inflammation. There is most definitely a...

Re: CCSVI Neutral or Critical Perspectives

That is interesting about Lebanon. I think Teva is too smart to publish such a poor study from Lebanon. Regardless, it has made little impact. They would want to protect profits for copaxone, so maybe they just wanted to check ccsvi out as a potential threat. If they did offer any funding for that p...

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

Sure. I am not arguing. I thought it was interesting. Inflammation can come and go. It doesn't need to be constant to do it's Thing. I am just saying ccsvi and MS could possibly be independently triggered by inflammation. Either that or you were just born with ccsvi.

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

Interesting. I think the inflammation does play a role in the venous anomlies. I have to see more about the other side. Thanks for posting the links. I meant to say VEGF, vascular endothelial growth factor. I was trying to go by memory in the last post. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vascular_endoth...

Re: Another Important New BNAC CCSVI Study

I have read that inflammation causes venous anamolies through Venous Growth Factor. It is created as a repair operation in the body. Are the venous anomolies noted by ccsvi not supposed to be caused by inflamation? Does that make them genetic anamolies? Do any other venous disease show organ specifi...

Re: CCSVI Neutral or Critical Perspectives

Of course there is a lot of money in MS. I think we all agree. I have not read the Beirut study. I question any of the measure of outcome on any treatment for MS, because of the nature of the disease and the people involved. I can be blamed for being too skeptical, but I have found it to work better...

Re: CCSVI Neutral or Critical Perspectives

I am not talking about treatment. I am talking about association. BNAC study was well done with 500 test subjects to establish association. If these people, who included Zamboni himself, are not considered peers to Zamboni, then Zamboni has no peers. That elevates Zamboni's status to untouchable, an...
