Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
dania is one of the loveliest and bravest women I've ever known. She's spent years trying to be properly diagnosed and kept searching and pushing against an arrogant medical establishment until she, herself, found the answer to her neurodegenerative condition. Doctors in mainstream medicine thought ...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
DrF, I forgot to tell you: 1) I have a new-patient appt for a full-spine chiro who has the table you recommended for me. 2) My husband is seeing his chiro again. 3) I found on the Internet a tens unit that looks just like yours (yes, I know you won't approve, but I have to try to be self-reliant--if...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Thanks, Nigel. NZ is farther ahead than NYS; I'm happy you have the legal MM option. If you've ever tried or ever will try pot for your symptoms, I do hope it's helpful for you like it's been for me. I just read where Colorado, which is one of only two US states that have legal recreational pot use,...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Hi Nigel, I've been wanting to ask you this for a while now: How is the medical marijuana situation in NZ? Can pot be grown outside in NZ's climate? Is pot for medicinal reasons legal? If not legal, are the penalties harsh? Personally, I find it very helpful for my pain, spasticity, and sleep. Right...

Re: Obtaining Social Security Disability
Filed by myself (am not a lawyer); approved in two weeks. Received first check after five-month waiting period. Gained Medicare eligibility 19 months after approval date. Tips if you apply yourself: 1. One of your doctors must agree to complete the required form in your favor; otherwise, you will no...

Re: PPMS and stem cell treatments
Hi peonypixie and welcome to TiMS, The chemotherapy drug, cytoxan, had an affect on your immune system, and because the cost of trials is so high, researchers must be very selective in which patients are admitted. Patients who had previous immune-modulating treatments, such as chemo, could skew the ...

Re: G.P and mri report
Hi melsywooh, If your g.p. doesn't understand the report, he'll need to consult with a neurologist or MS specialist, especially if you're considering starting a DMD or if the MRI was done to evaluate a current DMD you've been taking. I'm not a doctor, but I can try to help you understand the MRI rep...

Re: Dietary Salt Associated With MS Activity - new study
Cheer, thanks for providing all that information.
Those processed foods (usually frozen) you mention and salty snacks (potato chips, nuts, etc) are my downfalls, but I now intend to change my family's shopping/cooking/eating habits.

Dietary Salt Associated With MS Activity - new study
Has anyone with MS eliminated salt from their diet and experienced neurological benefit? http://www.medpagetoday.com/MeetingCoverage/ECTRIMS/42063?xid=nl_mpt_AAN_confreporter_2013-10-04&utm_source=aan-confreporter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=mpt&utm_campaign=10|04|2013&userid=40...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
Rob, my chiro took a special odontoid X-ray with my mouth open so a front view of the C1 vertebra could be seen. Maybe that's one of the types of "specific" upper cervical X-rays DrF mentions? DrF, do you happen to make house calls? J/k, but I do want to get back to you as soon as possible...

Re: CCSVI and CCVBP
YIKES! Am I really seeing what I think I'm seeing? Rob, are you missing segments from your ribs? The L T4 rib looks complete but ribbon thin, and the R T4 rib looks like it has a missing segment as do both sides of all ribs below. Can you feel with your fingers where the rib segments are missing whe...
