I had a one time experience where I took my Avonex injection about 12 hours or so after I felt a cold coming on. Surprisingly, it was one of few occurrences that I actually felt better after the injection.

Could the positive effects that people claim to get from the ABCR drugs be due to this same misunderstood healing mechanism of the human body? If a pill can have a profound psychosomatic effect, what could a discomforting injectable agent do? This seems unlikely. The clinical studies are designed t...

Re: link to science article
Most college and university libraries cary the journal Science. If you have a community college or university library in your town, then check with them as most off the shelf journals can be photocopied or computer access journals can be printed out for just the small charge of the copy machine/prin...

Re: Vitamin D
Nick, Thanks for posting that information. I had not run across that article before. The data plot clearly indicates an inverse relationship between vitamin D levels and relapse frequency. I did have one point to note though, the authors of that study are advocating a daily vitamin D dosage level of...

ThisIsMS, NMSS, and LDN
I'm confused. ThisIsMS has published a critique of the NMSS's article concerning LDN. While this area of research is new to me, I've noted that there appears to be an error in ThisIsMS's critique. Please allow me to explain my confusion. ThisIsMS states... the recommended LDN intake of 4.5 mg’s tota...

Re: Therapeutic Fasting
So, was her longevity due to the grape juice? She thought it was It very well could have been due to the grape juice. A PubMed search for grape seed extract yields many papers which discuss how the antioxidants in grapes (skin, seed, and pulp) activate the immune system and promote a Th1 response. ...

Re: Reference
OddDuck, Thanks for the additional reference as I haven't looked into research in this area for some time. My original citation was correct. These are actually two different papers. The paper I cited can be found at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Ab...

Re: Antioxidant Regimen
I noted in my previous post that... I'm also currently researching grape seed extract and may add that to my regimen at some time in the future. In order to keep things up to date, and possibly help others here as well, I wanted to share a reference I recently found on PubMed. This paper indicates t...

Re: Lipoic Acid
Perhaps I missed it somewhere, but how have your results been on your regimin? That's not an easy question to answer. Before I do though, I should note that I forgot to mention in my prior post describing my regimen that I also consume ground flax seed on a daily basis in addition to the omega 3 &a...

Chilcotin, Here's a link to other news regarding the lipoic acid study that you had inquired about, http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct/gui/show/NCT00010842?order=38. This study is to be completed by December 2004 although the above link states that it has been completed. Nonetheless, it will be interestin...

Just curious as to why you would want to take this twice a week vs. taking Rebif 3x a week. You are getting approx 3.5x the dose with Rebif for approximately the same cost. I've been on Avonex for a little over 4 years now. Early in my experience with Avonex, I was contacted regularly via phone by ...
