Re: A new concept and treatment options for MS
I always like to focus on the actions we can take more than the theory behind it... therefore the following would be strategies to support the theory above. - Exercise, particularly heavy lifting leave the treadmills for the hampsters. - Consume a creatine supplement. Older forms of Creatine the &qu...

Re: A new concept and treatment options for MS
Leonard, watching your theory evolve is really impressive. I like that you have not remained steadfastly committed to one theory. You have allowed studies and new research change your thinking, your thread is no longer about CCVSI as it was in the beginning it is much more wide reaching touching on ...

Re: GeNeuro, Servier partner to develop drug......
There are a few lifestyle changes I have made in the hopes of combating MSRV or more specifically EBV. - Low saturated fat diet - Eat a lot of berries - Exercise, specifically resistance training/ power lifting - Maintain low bodyfat % - Vitamin D supplementation For these reasons EBV requires satur...

Copaxone to Tec
I have been on Copaxone for almost 2 years, along with many other lifestyle changes and i have noticed a reduction in relapses and general well being. I go to the gym regularly following various power-lifting routines and have gained 17lbs in a year, mostly muscle, and that is an issue... My bodyfat...

Re: Diet cure anyone?
I think its interesting that all of these "MS Diets" restrict or eliminate red meat, and most protein foods in favour of a plant based diet. You need high stomach acid to digest protein and grains. The link below scratches the surface of why these diets might be somewhat effective for MS.....

Re: 24 treated, 24 with an end to symptoms
The way I see it there are 2 main issues with MS. 1. Immune cells should not be getting into the CNS. Suggesting an issue with the BBB, CCSVI or what have you. 2. Immune cells should not be targeting myelin. Suggesting an issue with targeting of T-Cells. To state CCSVI is the only thing going on in ...

Re: 24 treated, 24 with an end to symptoms
In Canada they have been performing the procedure for over 12 years. They will only treat aggressive forms of MS. I am only aware of 1 person with RRMS who did it. He traveled to Germany and paid 55k euros for it.DougL wrote:the story is from March 2013

Re: Diet effect on MS
The reason I support Swank and Jelinek more than Wahls is based on the studies I have read... there is significant evidence that MS patients have too much saturated fat in plasma. The goal of the Swank diet is to reduce saturated fat intake and ideally reduce MS symptoms. I have a theory on the diet...

24 treated, 24 with an end to symptoms
A lot of people state that Immune issues are not the route of the problem but the study about to be released will challenge that. The immune system may not be the cause but it does the damage. Remove that and what is MS? http://www.ottawacitizen.com/health/Ottawa+doctors+behind+breakthrough+multiple...

I know several people who have had the surgery and this seems to be the standard... Apparently LDN is effective for some symptoms of PPMS.TeresaL wrote: Helped right after but it didn't last.

Re: Estimating typical MS disability progression speed.....
Thanks Cheer, that definitely adds some insight into the study. Also I have not seen studies that show delayed progression of disability for people who take the DMDs. If you have a link to such a study I would like to see it. David the studies on progression are typically not encouraging but 2 seem ...

Re: Estimating typical MS disability progression speed.....
That is a point that stands out... but it flies in the face of every other study prior to this and it is contradicted by the very next statement in the abstract... "...Estimates assuming midpoint rather than maximum survival time are significantly faster: 16% faster for all R-MS natural history...

Re: I went half blind from MS!!!
My eye dr said what i got now is what i will have forever. Dont believe it!!! I was told that 3 months after a relapse the body stops repairing.... I am living proof that is not true. I was hit with 5 relapses in the first 6 months from diagnosis. My eyes get hit the most but I find after the initi...
