Re: placebo and control

you know, the more i learn, the more I really don't know what we are treating. If MS is symptom complex related to demyelinization that leads to poor electrical conduction that causes all the symptoms, how can those symptoms so abruptly and dramatically resolve?Certainly there is no remyelinization...

thanks Dr S for explaining upthread ^^^ the open label safety study vs the randomized study. I would include that post as a quote here, but I can't figure out how to include a quote of that size. You see, I am using my new iPad and it limits the reply size. Perhaps it could use some ballooning to st...

Dr Sclafani When you are "back in the saddle", and you start picking away at the list that you have of those of us wanting you to treat them.... will some of us get angioplasty and others not but think they did for sake of testing the "placebo" effect? Sorry for the long run on s...

Dr Sclafani,
Forgive me if you've answered this before, but when the IRB approves your proposal, will you be able to provide compassionate treatment to those with SPMS for instance? or your prior patients treated that need followup care? Or will it be strictly screenings, like Buffalo?
thanks

Today I called Georgetown. The woman I spoke to stressed that it is only an ultrasound, and it would not be worth it for me to travel there for it, as it is a test that can be done pretty much in any city. She also said the liberation procedure is not being done anywhere in the US because "2 pe...

Dr Sclafani, Thank you for giving me HOPE . I have SPMS and have been told by my doctor there is nothing that can be done, there is no effective therapy, and that the CCSVI theory is all wet. Now I am so thankful to be on your list, which I am sure is a mile long now. Thank you for all you are doin...

I have treated many vascular malformations in my career but never one in a patient with MS. that does not mean that there may be some association between ccsvi and other vascular malformations, only that one has not been recognized. As I was reading this wonderful thread, I thought you were treatin...

Hello all, My hands get cold easily, and on occasion they are not just cold but the fingers turn white and go numb. Freaks me out Other times, I've had the palms of my hands turn bright red. As for my feet, for the past few years they've been extremely dry, like abnormally dry. At times my left foot...
