Re: My sister and I have MS

Hello Ari, sorry to hear about this. :-|

My sister has psoriasis (& her son is mildly autistic).
And our mother is an asthmatic.
I feel that all of these are at their root environmental.
My mother feels guilty... Since asthma is an auto immune disorder.

Re: Cannabis

I was wondering..does anyone think smoking cannabis can actually make your MS worse? I used to smoke sometimes as a teenager, but then I was diagnosed with R-R MS and I smoked once after starting Avonex and it made my old MS symptoms feel terrible until I slept off the "high". I didn't sm...

Re: Cannabis

I use a mini vaporizer by the company Vapir. Add a little Indica, plug in, set your temp and inhale without using plastic bags like with other vapor machines. I have yet to try the included Pouch of lavender buds. Vapor is much more gentle than smoke. In these machines, the material is cooked rather...

Re: What are the benefits of Betaseron?

If not the drug-pusher thing, I feel like a test subject. I once was denied betaseron because I was told by the doctor thatt she already had another patient on that.

I use a heating pad

Before and after injection, i use a heating pad, thanks to this thread. Years ago, when i was taking Avonex, I used ice. But now, I think of using ice and I think of a frozen, hard chicken cutlet. Cold makes muscles tighten, heat relaxes. A nurse advised me to move around after injecting to disperse...

Whatever it is, I'll take it! I think of this often as I go into starting betaseron. I can still try natural approach things while taking an injectible... I'm scared, as there is hardly any fat on my body, but I figure that after a while, it'll be no big deal. I hope it won't be a waste of time. :?...

I've had to give up hot tea and soup. Signing a check is always...interesting. It's been a bit of challenge for me to find a good "straw bottle." I found some good lidded cups on theanimalrescuesite. The lid screws on. I use a metal straw and drink only water from this. I thought a travel ...

Gilenya and...Cancer??

A neuro of mine has resisted prescribing Gilenya to me due to a risk of cancer. So far, I've found evidence of skin cancer occuring in 8 of the clinical trial subjects. I don't know how many subjects total there were and I don't remember where I read that (it was an internet search). Has anyone else...

My neuro, who prescribed Ampyra upon my request, wouldn't do Gilenya, saying "cancer" ... I read last night that it caused skin cancer in 8 of the clinical trial participants.
I think I still want this, though.

I was prescribed Ampyra about 6 months ago (united states). I also can't really hand write any longer, and "walking" is a term I use loosely. It's nothing but wheelchair for the occasional outing these days. But I digress! I'm not sure if it's helping or not. I do miss a dose here and ther...

I think it stimulates the immune system. I for one felt much better during solumedrol treatment (10 years ago--before disability). I don't know if steroids help everyone, though. I responded positively to immune system suppression...not so much with an immune system boost, if that's what LDN does, i...
