Re: Should I bother seeing a doctor?

He didn't want to do anything, he's a gp. GPs just refer you (at least on the NHS.) They only do tests if they're trying to figure out who to refer you to, but in my case he already knew. You now see the point of my op.

Re: Should I bother seeing a doctor?

I went to the gp this morning. I specifically mentioned wnting to know what my magnesium levels are. He, as expected, just fobbed me off to a neuro. I tol him I wasn't interested in seeing a neuro that was only concerned with beta interferons and to find me one that would look at things like magnesi...

Re: UV-B therapy

>oh look, a cod serving will get me 90% of the RDA, coincidentally that is what i'm having for dinner this evening

But those studies are saying sunlight is something beyond vitamin d (not to say vitamin d is a bad thing.)

Good for her, that's great to here. Does she do anything else, like limit her fat intake?

Re: Should I bother seeing a doctor?

Good response by your wife. I haven't followed this whole cccsvi thing. I think that it was U of Buffalo put me off. Did she do it? Did it make a difference?

Re: Should I bother seeing a doctor?

Mostly it's the waste of time factor. Why does your wife refuse the meds? My neuro in Mississauga was never keen on them. Well, they didn't exist when I was first diagnosed and then after the second MRI that showed so much activity he was skeptical about how effective they really were. He said that ...

Re: UV-B therapy

I just saw someone I vaguely know that I know has psoriasis and asked her if she's done the uv b therapy. She said yes and it works but them you get 'immune' to it and they have to keep raising the dose and now she's at the point where she has to soak in some sort of chemical bath first. Thought tha...

Re: Should I bother seeing a doctor?

No opinions? How about this question, what does seeing a doctor do for you personally? Why do you go?

Re: UV-B therapy

Maybe a SAD light is the way to go.

Have there really been no studies on this? Or no anecdotal information?

Re: Tetnus injection?

Here is a page regarding shots. It basically says tetanus shot is fine, as is injected flu vaccine but not the inhaled flu vaccine.

Re: Tetnus injection?

I don't know medically, but I have always had tetanus shots (I travel a lot) to keep up to date and have never had a noticeable problem afterwards. He can always have the tetanus shot if he does get hurt, I think it has to be immediate. Remember, tetanus causes death, it's not something to be ignore...

Re: UV-B therapy

Here is a study with vitamin d supplements and ms symptoms. "Supplementation with 20,000 IU vitamin D3 weekly did not result in beneficial effects on the measured multiple sclerosis-related outcomes. This study was not powered to address clinical outcomes, but none of the results were suggestiv...
