Terry, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad to cancer 10 years ago. Sometime it feels like just yesterday, other times it feels like forever ago. But he’ll never be gone from your heart or mind. You’ll always have him there. And the good memories don't fade. Things can be so very dark and heav...

I figured boosting the immune system was the problem. But since the pharmacist was pinning it on zinc, and zinc is good (and Jimmy, if I didn't pay attention to you, I wouldn't know that and probably would have bought his explanation), it didn't make sense. Just goes to show who we should be listeni...

Halls Vitamin C Drops – Why an MS warning?

A couple years ago I noticed that Halls Vitamin C drops have a warning on the package that the drops shouldn’t be taken by people with MS. I used to keep them on hand to take if I was tired or felt a cold/sore throat coming on. Plus, it seemed like an easy way to get Vitamin C. Then one day I happen...

I went with lemon. I think I was expecting a Metamucil-type liquidly fiber drink, but it’s nothing like that. So they were all a pleasant surprise. None of them were bad, and next time I order I'll probably get orange just to change it up a bit. By the way, she didn’t charge me for the samples. I wa...

Hey Cat, I finally called Natural Calm a few weeks ago. I didn’t know what flavor I wanted, either, so she sent me a sample packet of each one. She’d probably do the same for you. None of them were as bad as I thought they’d be, but it was good to sample them all.

Thanks, N. I’ll just take my time at go at it the long way. After all the time and effort so many people have put into the CCVI thread, it’s the least I can do to read it carefully. It’s going to be a long one, though -- the first two pages of the post copy into 16 pages in Word, with a smaller font...

Printing out a topic and replies

Is there an easy way to print out all the posts to a topic in a one, separate Word document? I've tried copying and pasting, but that doesn't work well for longer threads. There are some posts that I’d like to read in more detail and they’re pretty long (like the CCVI thread), and it would be so muc...

Hi Jules, You know I’m with you on the needle thing. In the “everyone’s different” category, though, my best friend has the same kind of trauma with swallowing pills that I have with injections. Go figure. jimmylegs is SO right about not assuming no news is good news. I found out I had MS from the g...

Stem Cell Transplant Segment on The Early Show

I’m not sure if this is going to work, but I’ll give it a shot. I don’t know if anyone saw this, but it’s a segment that aired on the CBS Early Show today. It’s about a MS patient who underwent a stem cell transplant and seems to have had very good results. Phase I trial and all that, but still inte...

Wow!! They’re outta their paper-pushing, analytical little minds – must be spending too much time smoking stuff that some people can’t get a hold of legally. Predictions through 2017? Worthless. And if there’s nothing newer and better than Tysabri by then, I’m in a lot more trouble than I think I am...

Jules, Your list should help the doctor. It’s so natural to get sidetracked and lose your train of thought during a visit. I bring a copy for my doctor, too. I also date and save my notes. They've come in handy a few times. By the way, like a lot of folks here, I’ve never had a spinal tap. Just luck...

Hi Cure, Like I said to Jules, the shots barely hurt. But I do appreciate your suggestion, and I’ll definitely keep it in mind. The Copaxone is now more of a very inconvenient routine with annoying side effects that I will give up in a heartbeat as soon as a decent pill comes out. It’s just the way ...

Hi Jules, Believe it or not, your posts were one of the reasons I finally got off my duff and on the fourm so I could post. I recognize and understand the trauma of anyone who’s afraid of needles. But as many others have said, don't get too far ahead of yourself. Wait and see how it all develops. If...

Not New to the Board or MS

Hello! I think it’s about time I got my nerve up to post on TIMS. I’ve been a stealth member for almost 3 years now. I check in very often, and I’ve learned A LOT from everyone here. I found this board soon after I was diagnosed in April 2006. Jeez, was that ever a surprise! Before my first and only...
