Re: Question...IV Solu-Medrol and Spasticity

Beth, you may want to look into trying out a vibration fitness machine (many Chiropractors have them). They vibrate at high speed as you do light exercise/movements and are supposed to 'amplify' the workout. I can't tell you for sure whether they really work or not but I have one and I always feel f...

Re: Question...IV Solu-Medrol and Spasticity

I have had minimal Spasticity and have been able to control it through stretching and exercise. I have read that others have had similar successes as well. Do you stretch. I found this guide that you may find helpful: http://www.nationalmssociety.org/NationalMSSociety/media/MSNationalFiles/Brochures...

Re: Ebola Concerns While on Immunosuppressants?

" I guess the idea of suppressing my immune system freaks me out"

I felt the same way which is why I chose Copaxone which does not suppress the immune system.

Re: Ebola Concerns While on Immunosuppressants?

Frankly, at this point, you should be more concerned with not catching a cold or the flu.

Re: Please help me with my dilemma.

Welcome to TIMS! Most States offer assistance for medical care. Have your checked with yours? MRIs have limited usefulness. Keep in mind that some with MS do not have plaques and some with MS have plaques but no symptoms. They can help in getting a diagnosis though but the medicines are expensive un...

Re: Newly Diagnosed

"I would say I had a very healthy diet" Unfortunately, not everyone is in agreement of what is a healthy diet is. Especially for someone with MS. MS diets differ greatly. I suggest you check out some of the major MS diets available, plus the Paleo diet, plus Dr. Wahls' diet. Perhaps at tha...

Re: Possible MS would like input

You obviously have something. It could be MS but it could also be something else - there are around 400 illnesses that mimic MS. Anyone here, whether they are a doctor or not (most are not), would only be guessing at this point (as am I and I am not a doctor) based on the info you are providing whic...

What POSITIVES has MS brought to you?

While I would obviously rather not have MS than have it, the illness has had some positive effects on my life. And hopefully it has brought some positives to yours. Perhaps you have a few you would like to share too! I work much less (I have had many 18+ hour work days in my past and spend a lot mor...

Re: Newly diagnosed, now more scared than ever!

Grieving is normal. It will pass. There are numerous ways to help you deal with the feelings/emotions you are going through - family, friends, doctors, medications - consider an emotional support animal.. "I am not lucky" Actually, yes you are. While the best news would be to have nothing,...

Re: well, here I go...

DMDs basically help reduce the frequency of relapses over the long term. If you are ever going to start taking one, sooner is better than later - later may be too late. Vesta's post says it all! With regard to Copaxone, how it works is a mystery, but the bottom line is that it does appear to work, e...
