You know Sou, there was some good news earlier in the month. I am (fairly) excited by the research being conducted by Dr Zhegang at the Boston Children's Hospital and Dr Smith's team at the Carleton University in Canada. Both are investigating nerve regeneration resulting from the repression of a mo...

My one took four attempts and brought on the worst relapse I ever did have. One of my worst experiences. I'd say, refuse it at the risk of missing a diagnoses of something worse than MS. If you feel you have to go through with it, ensure that whoever is performing the procedure has a great deal of e...

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I founmd this interesting. I have slowly got used to having only a few hours sleep in bed. This has slowly become a habit because the longger I sleep in bed the worse my symptoms are. My body just slowly insisted that this would be the amount of sleep that I get. I...

Re: A doctor's questions re: CCSVI
A doctor posted the following comment with some intelligent questions concerning the CCSVI theory on the Buffalo News web site article. I posted a quick answer that they are finding pressure gradients across stenosis and they are finding problems with the azygous vein, but perhaps some people have ...

Green Tea and Iron
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16470637
According to the people who wrote this paper Green Tea acts to chelate iron and it tastes good too (that last bit is my opinion, not necessarily theirs).

I make music. It's one of the only things that I do now that I used to do before the MS. But, before I met my girlfriend, downloading films and watching them on a wall with a projector saved me. I have got through a list of the top hundred films of the 40's, 50's and 60's, I have watched every Russi...

Poor you. I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. I was never as bad as you but I have recovered a great deal from where I was five years ago. I had lost sensitivity to light and the centre of my visual field was completely blurred. Over three years I recovered functional vision. I still have blurrine...

Two articles regarding stem cells 'reversing MS'
Most of us will be familiar with the trials involving bone marrow derived stem cells. Here are two articles detailing an Australian man and two American men. It sounds as though all three have (had) RR, two of the men were younger, one of those was wheelchair bound. http://www.frcblog.com/2009/12/mul...

News On Axonal Regeneration
Well, it could be (a lot) better but, still, it's one of the most encouraging reports on axonal regeneration that I have seen to date.. http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2009-12/chb-cin120809.php Coaxing injured nerve fibers to regenerate by disabling 'brakes' in the system Mouse study suggests...
