Re: Robocalls
Same here (I also get spam calls). Some people spend a long time to explain they are not interested. Some say to hold on, then wait until the guy hangs up=>I think this is kind of sadist. I don't do that. I'm a good human being. I immediately hang up. This is straight, fast, clean. The animal does n...

Re: Experimental Tongue Therapy Helps Restore Brain Function
Hi, I was informed Montel Williams was in Montreal clinic yesterday. Too bad I was not there. I have a lot of questions... They apparently asked him how he felt the PONS helped him. From what laura (my former physiotherapist) said, Montel was vague, telling them that it just takes a lot of work and ...

Re: Experimental Tongue Therapy Helps Restore Brain Function
Hi, I just received the below message on Whatsapp from one MSer I met in Montreal clinic. I posted this today on Secondary progressive MS Facebook page: For those of you who have followed and wondered about the PONS device over the last 5+ years, I would like to tell you about my experience. I have ...

Re: Spinal cord
I've met MSers with spinal cord lesions and without spinal lesions. All of them had severe gait issues. This study is showing that gait issues are related to lesions located at the spinal cord. So I am confused... Are MSers with gait issues and without spinal cord lesions can't walk cause of poor ba...

Re: balance and gait improvement
You're right, one PoNS clinic was recently opened in Calgary. Montel Williams has been using the device for a looooong time. Also, he is a workout addict. Most of all, don't forget he is not the face of MS! We are all different. I believe in neuroplasticity. I really think brain stimulation can help...

balance and gait improvement
Hi, One MSer living in US, tried the PoNS https://www.thisisms.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=258709#p258709 As she hasn't seen any positive result, she told me she would try this: https://www.hocoma.com/solutions/gait-balance/ I think that's interesting, so I share... Just want to say I don't work for t...

Neufit Electrical Stimulation & Neubie
Hi, Just want to share something I found while I was searching some stuff about Dr Terry Wahls. https://terrywahls.com/learn-more-about-neufit-electrical-stimulation/ She is using electrical stimulation. I am very suspicious regarding what is being said in the extract below... Because of the neurolo...

Re: Experimental Tongue Therapy Helps Restore Brain Function
Hi, As promised, here is my feedback after 8 weeks with the PoNS: Actually, it's gonna be fast. As I fell in the stairs last week, my ankle got a bit twisted, so I was able to perform only 50% of the assessment. So, in summary, my balance was worst and my walking hasn't really changed. Anyway, asses...

Re: Experimental Tongue Therapy Helps Restore Brain Function
Hi, FYI : starting next week, the pons device cost will be cut in half as the cost was too high to recuit patients. New cost will be around 15K Helius needs data to get FDA's approval. As they plan to collect data from participants, cost must be affordable. The clinic in Montreal is almost empty....

Re: Can your life ever be normal again?
Hi, I was just giving my opinion about people with EDSS <1, telling that MS can lead to even a better life. I think these people don't really know what is it to have "strong MS". It reminded me a cute lady (she is a famous model) saying on a TV show, that people with overweight should not ...

Re: Experimental Tongue Therapy Helps Restore Brain Function
Did a reasonable number of the people you met have favorable results? No Not only my case but also the numerous MSers (& others) I met in the clinic who came cause of Doidge's book. Sorry Elliot for my very short answer. It's just that me + many others patients, are quite angry with Norman Doid...

Re: Experimental Tongue Therapy Helps Restore Brain Function
Hi, I will post my feedbacks regarding the PoNS treatment as I started it 4.5 weeks ago in Montreal. I will be glad to answer your questions if any. A facebook group was created to discuss this treatment (Montreal PoNS group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/302880607309645/) => if you're interested,...
