Re: 2nd flare up, no real MS diagnosis yet
Hi B and welcome, although, of course, we're sorry your current crises have sent you here. I wish you well in your journey through the diagnostic process. In the case of MS, that's often a torturous (literally) and confusing trip! As an FYI - I deleted your duplicate posts and combined the oth...

Re: Welcome to ThisIsMS
Hello. I am a recently diagnosed RR MS'er and currently on Tecfedera (1st full month). I am dealing with daily weakness and dizziness. Feel like will pass out when standing too long. Anyone else same? What to do? I never thought I would pray just to shower! So far so good otherwise. I would say tho...

Re: EMG
I am scheduled for an EMG a week from Friday. Is this a test that can diagnose MS or point to another neurological disorder? Hello Jam and welcome, although I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with all these symptoms! To answer your question, no, an EMG does not diagnose MS, although it does point to p...

Re: What does optic neuritis "feel" like?
I went to a Opth~ last time i had those wierd sensations because i was afraid, and to rule out retinal detachment. She said i have floaters, but no visible tearing and to "watch and wait" If it were that, i would be blind a few days later. But it never happened and that was 2 years ago. N...

Re: New and wondering
Lynda, when you say hot baths or exercise worsens symptoms, what do you mean? Does it happen after or during the activities? Like for me, if my feet are really itchy, i will take a hot bath to alleviate it (my feet get REALLY cold for my entire life), then 2 hours later is comes back. Now i don't w...

Just request your lab results, take a picture, and upload it. -C Heads up, centenarian100 (and others), the opening post is from Dec. 2011 -- 3-1/2 years ago -...

Re: very Nervous
There are around 400 illnesses that mimic the symptoms of MS, so a diagnosis of MS can sometimes be difficult to determine. Again, let your doctors do their jobs, and be patient. There are many things you can do now to feel better and feel better sooner, regardless of the final diagnosis - eat bett...

Re: very Nervous
Thanks. I'm trying. Does it sound like MS? Hi archer and welcome! I'm sorry you're going through this. As for your specific question, though, MS seems to be completely unique to each of us. We each have different symptoms and history, and there's no single definitive test for MS. I'm glad to see yo...

Re: MS and Heat, Why?
I've never taken meds for MS except 1 yr experiment on LDN. That alone was probably a good treatment as it has the angiogenetic property. This can be a bad thing if somehow it affects precancerous tissue, but there seems to be an inverse proportionality between cancer and MS, for some reason, in a ...

Re: MS and Heat, Why?
Then...I got a surprise, accidental diagnosis of MS -- while feeling GREAT. How in the world did that happen? Do you have lesions, black holes, oligoclonal bands? My father had peripheral neuropathy, but not MS. From type II diabetes. Short answer is: Yes, I do have lesions, black holes, oligoclona...

Re: MS and Heat, Why?
How are you on fatigue issues? Regards Hi Scott, if you're asking me this question, fatigue isn't a problem with me either. I've very likely had MS for 40+ years -- maybe even since childhood -- although I was only diagnosed in 2003 at age 52. As for heat: The interesting thing is, throughout all t...

Re: MS and Heat, Why?
P. S. Just to show our individuality, heat has very little effect on me -- not more than anyone else my age. And my docs consider that mine is one of the most definite cases of MS they've seen.
