Re: MRI updates
Any suggestions based on my symptoms Mark? I forgot to add muscle spasms in arms, legs, abdomen, and my fine motors skills in my left hand seemed to have diminished. My heart seems to be beating harder as well. With the possible exception of the muscle spasms, everything below your neck that you de...

Re: MRI updates
So my c-spine came back normal except for 2 bulging discs...no lesions. My neuro says I definitely don't have MS, but I'm not totally convinced. He wants me to do physical therapy for my neck, and come back in a month. On one hand I'm happy that they haven't found anything, and on the other I still...

Re: Well,
And just like such other very much more severe neuro-degenerative diseases like senile dementia, Alzheimers, Parkinsonism etc, and well, if such very much more chronic neuro-degenerative disorders can be 100% fully cured, a definite total cure for MS would have been found and invented long time ago...

Re: Symptoms
I wouldn't be satisfied with that "anxiety" biz either. But I would also say that I or folks I know have had all of the symptoms you mentioned for purely mechanical spinal reasons (which would generally also result in normal neuro tests). If any/all of your symptoms seem position/posture d...

Re: Hello from Ohio
Welcome! And sorry you had to be here... I genuinely admire your determination to take a natural approach, but as someone who's life has literally been saved by modern medicine (chemo, radiation & cyber-knife) I sincerely hope you will continue to consider the disease-modifying meds. This is the...

Re: I suspect my neighbour has MS
I just took my wife to an on-call ophthalmologist today because she's had floaters & light flashes in one eye for over 24 hrs. The dx was basically aging (the vitreous gel hardening). The rx is to come back regularly (for monitoring). They can apparently laser repair the retina if they catch it ...

Re: They won't give me a diagnosis, are they afraid to?
I'm sure you're frustrated, but I would not want or expect a neurosurgeon to make a definite MS dx (I did let one cut a tumor out of my brain, though ). If there's one anywhere near, I'd try to see a neurologist at a major MS Clinic.
Good luck,
Mark

Re: any rocket scientists out there? Anyone who can decifer
If my neuro wouldn't explain my test results or why I should take a particular DMD I would find a new doc ASAP. Preferably one at a major MS clinic...

Hate gyms, not exercise? Here's a great option...
Like the subject implies, I've got nothing against exercise but the very last place I want to do it is in a gym. So I'm willing to invest in exercise equipment when I know I'll use it (and have somewhere to put it!)... For several years we had a treadmill and then switched to an elliptical trainer f...

Re: gabapentin
Depression is a *potential* side effect, not guaranteed. If you've been using gabapentin already without new/increased depression there's no reason to stop (unless/until you *do* have side effects, of course)...elyse_peace wrote:I do not need to add to my depression.

Re: Merry Xmas, here is your MS
Research shows the drugs are useless at best and may be harmful. The drugs are certainly harmful to some, and do not measurably help *everyone* who uses them, but to call them useless is a your personal opinion. There's plenty of evidence that all DMDs slow MS progression for *most* users. If there...

Re: Seeing movement when there is none
First of all, there are all sorts of visual effects that are caused in the eye itself (e.g., 'floaters') and not obviously linked to neural diseases. Actual hallucinations (let's not beat around the bush) can be caused by all kinds of brain/neural issues. In June I went from a few weird peripheral d...

Re: Cost of Copaxone
Is everyone faced with this increase? Ouch. I am fortunately still working and my co. offers a good PPO-type plan. I'm paying $30/mo. and haven't been told of any increase. I *was* told that if I elected to allow delivery without signing for it, I would be responsible for the $3000+ per month if it...

injection tracking: DIY & phone app approaches
... i am also really diligent about rotating within and between injection sites -drew myself a chart to make sure i am always at least 2" from last injection in a particular site (it was on a leaflet to keep at least 2" away). my approach meant i didn't actually inject the same spot for 6...
