Re: Tecfidera

For anyone starting tecfidera please take my advice:
something like omeprazole really helps with GI problems and a 75mg aspirin with each 240mg dose of tecfid takes away all the flushing. good luck - its not an easy drug but i am beginning to feel after 4 months it could be worth it.

Re: Tecfidera side effects

My neuro is adamant that I should try to get upto full dose ie 2 x 240mg daily and also told me to take 75mg aspirin with each dose to mitigate side effects. Fingers crossed !

Tecfidera side effects

I have been taking Tecfidera for three months. From the start I have had severe flushing, GI discomfort (taking 40mg omeprazole daily) loss of appetite and gradual onset of depression and general mental fogginess. The side effects got so bad that my neuro told me to cut back down to 240mg once daily...

Re: New rules for private prescriptions

Not sure about the rule changes but I had the same situation. I had to see my neuro privately to get a private script for fampyra. It is not cheap but it is worth it. The reason it is not available on NHS is because the idiots at NICE decided it was too expensive and not sufficiently proven to be of...

Azathioprin : imuran

Hi to all out there in interweb land I have just been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis (in addition to relapsing remitting ms) and my liver specialist has advised me that he will soon want to start me on Azathioprin for hepatitis. I understand this is also used as an ms treatment so the question ...

Re: Fampyra launched in the UK to aid MS walking

Hi TwiNTwin. Good to hear from you. FYI all side effects have now disappeared thank goodness. I am now taking 2 x 10mg daily as I could not tolerate full dose initially but have done it progressively over a few months. I am sorry you are having blood pressure problems. Because my neuro enrolled me o...

Re: Fampyra launched in the UK to aid MS walking

I am trialling ampyra and wonder if anyone else is so we can compare benefits and side effects. I am finding it is helping me combat fatigue, in fact my energy levels are better with amprya than with modafinil. Also legs feel stronger. However I have dizziness, heartburn and constipation! You cannot...

Vertigo

Hi LR

Sorry you have vertigo but I have always found that the best medication to get rid of it is Serc. If you can get a script for Serc 16, take 2 and go to bed as they will make you sleepy. When you wake up you will feel 100% better. Hope this helps.

EHC CCSVI Packages

Hi all I expressed my concerns about EHC a while back. They are headed by a doctor who, in my opinion, seems to have had a lot of fingers in an awful lot of pies over the years - the only apparent common theme being how much money each pie could earn him. I do not want to sound negative - I would li...

Pregnancy / CCSVI

Hi Gibbledy So sorry to hear your news about the kink. Hopefully Dr Dake will be able to point you in the direction you should go. Is Dr Simka ok about seeing you as you were under Dr Dake previously? You and a lot of other people on this site have an incredibly vast knowledge and understanding of C...

Pregnancy / CCSVI

Hi GG You are so not at the last chance saloon of pregnancy. A friend of mine is at least 3 years older than you and just produced twins at her first effort. OK she does not have MS but as a healthy person she had a tough pregnancy. Pregnancy is hard - I had two really poor pregnancies - but try and...

CCSVI

Hi Shoshana

I read your posting with great interest but can you please explain something - are you saying that treatment is now available in Israel?

I would be very interested if it is.

Many thanks
