I know what you mean mate. We're there now. Mel's at a conference the first one 'post-MS', I remember how hard it was for her when she went two years ago to the same thing and the news of her MS had 'leaked' and everyone treated her weird and she couldn't go to the dinners etc. She's not once mentio...

Lisa, Not true. I heard it from Dake's mouth and he was upset about it. I even asked him to clarify as I thought I'd misunderstood. Thought it very unfair and barbaric and he even said 'how could you go in, see a problem and pretend to fix it?'. There is indeed a push for this. Hopefully it won't ha...

Zamboni concentrates of eliminating turbulent flow which is what this is. Turbulent flow is caused by too high a pressure too. Just like in a pipeline, there's an optimum amount of flow you can get, putting more oil through doesn't raise pressure it actually reduces pressure by creating turbulence a...

The stem cells in your marrow regenerate the immune system, white cells etc.

regenerative stem cell treatment is different, its aimed at injected or inducing the mobilisation of neuronal stem cells to directly repair the damage.

Same as with spinal repair etc.

Great post as usual Lew.

Can I make a request though?

It's sometime (especially the first part) a huge block of text not broken up. Difficult to read sometimes, can you tab it out a little?

Five Month Update

Quick recap (this site has exploded, even in the couple of weeks my attention has wandered it has grown exponentially, hence the recap!). Mel was diagnosed summer 2007, had high dose chemo (Hi-Cy/Revimmune) in May 2008. HiCy paused progression, gave her bowel function back but the rest of the sympto...

My understanding from Kerr and our neuro before that was that a pseudo-relapse was a triggering of existing symptoms by heat, fatigue, infection or even just 'dunno' cause but didn't show up with new symptoms etc.

I think Kerr called them exacerbations which I think fits better.

Bob,

I think the difference is - not actively supporting, investigating etc is one thing but they are actively trying to prevent others doing so.

Why?

(Or at least that seems to be the implication by those above, I have no special knowledge of such.)

I'm so glad Mel got treated when she did.

I think this will get a lot harder before it gets easier.

We're not going away though are we?

I dont believe they are separate Rad. If you think about it, if a simple mechanical problem was that easy (bearing in mind the jugs and nerves are in a very resilient cable housing) then MS would be a lot more prevalent. I personally think that the congenital weakness (collagen etc) leads to those p...
