This is repost 'Connecting the dots'. This a new forum for me. Sorry I was so vague but I have been frozen out of several health forums that are drug related or financed. Most of my posts are about my experience and research into health. Thousands of pages. Most having to do with vitamins, minerals, supplements, diet, diseases, afflictions, etc, etc.
The drug related “Health" forums will freeze you out at the first mention of vitamin C or vitamin, minerals and supplements, Real health sites like ‘doctoryourself.com', or 'the vitamin c foundation' or any site that real drug free health. It got so bad that when l listed my internet email address I got a message that I was “permanently bared”.
This is only the forth site that has allowed me to post. I do not accept just one site or opinion, but cross check several, some times 20 or 30 because of inconsistency, self promoting, and many that are just purely spouting disinformation, propaganda and out right lies. To many are like the cancer, arthritis, diabetes societies etc., the CDC, AMA, FDA etc., and most government agencies are depend on our ill health for their survival. The whole health industry including insurance, is worth about a trillion dollars and counting. Anyone trying to change this is sailing a dingy in a hurricane. Thats why my favorite health site is doctoryourself.com and others like it. Thats why my dingy is parked at 4200 feet in rural Oregon, As one doctor put it 40 years ago after a though health examination, I am at 81, “Disgustingly" healthy. Check out MS and most other ills, at the sites mentioned.
All my research has led me to believe, that almost all Ill heath is dietary and almost all are preventable and or curable. That the exceptions seem to be missing or corrupted genes or enzymes. I am not alone in this thinking. Many, much more knowledgeable than I have said the same. I believe in what the ole cowboy sage said, ifin yor not larnin yor dyin. Mistakes are one key to wisdom. I recently made an interest research, internet: ‘cancer oxygen’. …dez...

I am appalled at the over all ignorance displayed on this MS site and the public in general. The most important nutrient for all animals is Ascorbic Acid, or Vitamin C. MAN, monkeys, apes, guinea pigs and very few more do not produce vitamin c in their liver. We are missing the enzyme that creates the ascorbic acid so necessary for every minute of our lives. Without ascorbic acid we die a horrible death after scurvy has destroyed our bodies, if we have not died already from a disease or two or three. Every cell in our bodies is made possible by vitamin C. No cells destroyed by disease are replaced without ascorbic acid. Why do you think 90.000,000 hits are displayed in google when Vitamin C is the search term.

Dr. Klenner is quoted in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine as saying that "some physicians would stand by and see their patient die rather than use ascorbic acid because in their finite minds it exists only as a vitamin."

dez2000,
Thank you for the websites you listed. And the reminder about Vit.C I've been taking it for many years and ran out recently.

Excerpts from article “Dystrophy" from; doctoryourself.com to read the rest.

Malnutrition causes muscular dystrophy? The short answer is, Yes. "Dystrophy: 1. Defective nutrition. 2. Any disorder caused by defective nutrition." (American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, p 407.)

Science has known for decades that many a specific birth defect is a direct result of a specific vitamin deficiency. (1-3)

“At our son’s last visit to the pediatrician, the doctor was completely amazed at how well he is doing. He shows no signs of typical MD that she was expecting based on her experience with conventional medicine.”

"I was diagnosed with the FSHD form of muscular dystrophy some years ago and given the typical 'there is no known cure' comment from the muscle specialist, neurosurgeon and my family doctor. I accepted the situation, but continued to hope for some development in the disease. I came across your web site, {doctoryourself.com}and read the article on M.D. For the first time in years I felt encouraged and began to try a combination of the items listed in the article. I noticed an immediate increase in my energy level, which felt good in itself, but the "amazing" happened just recently when both my wife and I noticed a increase in the size of my left leg's calf muscle (this is without exercising). It was very obvious. I am continuing with the vitamins and supplements with an eager, though cautious 'one day at a time,' expectation of further results."

The good news (to be considered further below) is that if nutrient deficiency can cause an illness, nutrient therapy may ameliorate, or even cure, that illness.

"Dinner Table Heredity”
Ova (human eggs) are formed during the fetal s tage of a female’s life. In other words, all of a woman’s own eggs are actually formed while she was developing inside her mother, before she herself was born. Wow. This means that what your grandmother ate significantly contributed to your anatomy. Think that one over: What looks to be purely a genetic problem may in fact be a largely a nutritional one. I call this "Dinner Table Heredity." Just because a problem comes out of the womb does not mean that that problem is genetic and only genetic. Science has known for decades that many a specific birth defect is a direct result of a specific vitamin deficiency. (1-3)

Unlike spina bifida, muscular dystrophy may be reversible. However, MD is almost certainly not a matter of simple malnutrition, for it often does not respond to low-dose nutrient therapy. But it may sometimes respond to high-dose nutrient therapy, and may therefore be what orthomolecular physicians call a "genetotrophic" disease.

In genetotrophic diseases, genetic abnormality leads to nutritional disability. To compensate, the body requires the availability of larger than normal quantities of one or more nutrients for the affected gene to successfully express itself. For that particular person, normal dietary vitamin intakes are quite inadequate for normal function. It is a bit like trying to take a hot bath with the drain open: it can be done, but you are going to need a lot more hot water.

I think muscular dystrophy may constitute a good example of a genetotrophic disease. This also goes a long way to answering the perennial parents' question as to how one child can be healthy while the sibling is afflicted with MD. . . when Mom ate pretty much the same diet during both pregnancies. There may be both a genetic component and a nutritional component. Rather than a nutrient deficiency, MD may more exactly be considered to be a genetically-influenced nutrient dependency.

Prevention
By Mayo Clinic staff
Folic acid, taken in supplement form at least one month before conception and during the first trimester of pregnancy, greatly reduces the risk of spina bifida and other neural tube defects.

recently spina bifida came to my attention, decided to look it up.. neural tube birth defect.. b/c I have been running into zinc connected with birth defects, I thought I would see if zinc could be linked to *neural tube* defects in particular. before posting this, I went over what I might have posted here before, and found these:

on choline, folic acid and neural tube defects (2009)
http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-d ... tml#p63629

on zinc and neural tube defects (2012)
http://www.thisisms.com/forum/post19424 ... al#p194243

since everyone knows that you take folic acid to reduce the risk of neural tube defects, I had to wonder if there might be an interaction between folic acid and zinc. it looks like there is. so perhaps folic acid is another one of these things that requires zinc for proper utilization, and when we take extra folic acid we're just making up for poor utilization:

Micronutrient interactions: effects on absorption and bioavailability
http://journals.cambridge.org/download. ... f916a408e1
"... The polyglutamine forms of dietary folate require the conjugation by a zinc-dependent hydrolase prior to intestinal absorption. Zinc deficiency could consequently impair folate bioavailability."

Is there any way to regularise protease and DNase 1 by way of diet, supplements or meds? I have lupus, fibromyalgia, para thyroide and PPMS.
