What about the name Ginkgo Biloba makes me think of The Lord of the Ring trilogy?

i don't know, but i can tell you my cognitive function *skyrocketed* when i originally used ginkgo biloba!!
take control of your own health
pursue optimal self care at least as actively as a diagnosis
ask for referrals to preventive health care specialists eg dietitians
don't let suboptimal self care muddy any underlying diagnostic picture!

well study or no study, I too have noticed a definite lift of brain fog and an increase in short term & long term memory - so I'm sticking with my daily Ginko supplement.

should be variable person to person - with herbs especially, i think it really clearly depends on the individual situation
