I'm scared out of my mind. Of 2 things actually. I'm scared of the MRI I am taking on the 24th and my doctor telling me I have lesions again or I have atrophy. Also the baby has me worried.
I just hope I can keep this bugger slowed up enough I can get to see my kids get older! I really don't necessarily think I am RRMS anymore so I worry more. I have tried to quit worrying about the whole disease thing. I saw a cool statement by Patrick Swayze where he said paraphrased, "I'm not chasing a cure. You spend so much time you miss living what you have. " I figured it is good advice. I have a whole MS clinic and numerous others around the world trying to figure this thing out. I'm going to let them worry about it for me, trust if anything changes I will hear about it from my doc, and enjoy the time I have left in whatever capacity with my wife, child, and extended friends and family. I may not be dying but I am not going to let a case of pancreatic cancer convince me of what matter most.
Prepare for your heart to swell 10 times with an unselfish love u never knew u had.
I was a stay at home Mum for a few years there. My son is now in school and nearly 5.
If u don't mind advice I would:
- Enjoy just lying in bed watching your baby. I was too driven to sort everything.
Have fun - I never realised babies are great fun, especially if u bring them swimming.
Take lots of photos and videos. Print them off.
Nap when your little lad naps - it will help keep you mentally and physically well.
Get out every day- be it a walk to a park, visit to friends or a playgroup or art gallery (little babies seem to love galleries) you will feel great for getting out of the house.
Don't go shopping without muslin squares / dribbles and most emergencies can use a muslin sq.
Finally be really selfish about getting enough rest. U may feel guilty but if u are unwell everything falls apart.
