Spasticity and sugar

Post by David1949 »

Has anyone noticed a connection between sugar intake and spasticity? I have frequent problems with spasiticity in which my leg jerks involuntarily. It seems to be worse if I have eaten a lot of sugar earlier in the day. Cutting back on sugar seems to help.

For the record I'm a 65 year old male dxed with ppms 18 years ago. I am still able to get around with my cane and leg brace, although I don't go very far anymore.

I find my 'jimmylegs' will act up if my zinc is low. your body goes through a fair amount of zinc when dealing with sugar intake.
