If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Melatonin Acts as Antioxidant and Improves Sleep

Post by Quest56 »

Pubmed article about melatonin and MS:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24974099

I used to use medicinal marijuana to help with sleep problems, but gave this up because of cost and quality issues. I've been using melatonin for several months now, and sleep very soundly. I use a low dose capsule, 300 mcg daily, in a timed release formula that is available on amazon.

Interesting that at this low daily dose (300 millionths of a gram) it doesn't make me feel sleepy when I take it, but with it in my system, I fall to sleep more easily at night and sleep more soundly.

There are many options in the OTC market, here's what I currently take, it's very affordable:

Here's a 2013 article from the Life Extension magazine about melatonin:

Some information about the use of melatonin in those with autoimmune disease:

I've seen much contradictory information on this topic. I've made the decision to use it at very low dose because of the sleep benefit, but I have noticed the arthritis in my finger joints has become much more of a problem recently. I don't know if this is related or not.
