So for what purpose is the link posted on a website for those who have MS? Surely not to promote Dr. Mercola's financial empire!!?? Think you hit the nail on the head JeanDeEau.

Thanks want2bike.
I have seen 2 doctors recently that I am really impressed with. And guess what, they are both D.O.'s.
I think it is important for people to be aware of the huge differences in doctors and given my recent experience, I'll take a good D.O. any day over an M.D. But of course, one must meet with a doctor and ask questions to get a good idea as to whether the doctor is liable to help or hinder the healing process.
Yes, healing process, not just attempts at symptom management/suppression, which is what most doctors are into.

You aren't suggesting to Wanna that you meet with an MD? According to him, they are liars and can't be trusted!

Seriously, like any profession, there are good docs and not so good docs...good Dos and not so good DO's. My wife, who worked in critical care for years, wouldn't let a few of the docs near our cat let alone a person!! I knew a DO (now retired) who was excellent when it came to areas of medicine that he was expertise in. But I wouldn't go to him for something like a serious infection, stitches for a deep cut, skin ailment...etc.

I don't recall anything like that in want2bike's link.

All I can say to that is that I recently have seen an M.D. who I am impressed with. He told me that he was turned on to the vital importance of magnesium for health by another doctor. My assumption is that, sometime after completing his medical degree, he became aware of the significance of nutrition and other natural methods.
So, he is an example for me of an M.D. that works with nutrients and is not just into drugs. :-D

It's put in for liability protection, plain and simple.

Go and view several of Wanna's postings in the past couple of months. There are numerous comments where he states over and over again that doctors are liars, not to be trusted and only want to keep us sick with their lies!!

Don't let that doctor out of your sight! Like I have said many times, the medical profession is like most others in that you have your good ones that continually learn and have an open mind and then you have your not so good ones who place themselves on a pedestal, are not open to suggestions and can be arrogant. My present wife had to get rid of her doctor for these reasons and I got her in to be a patient of my doctor who is young, smart and not a believer in giving drugs to fix problems.

I posted the article to explain the difference between the MD and the DO. The MD uses the drugs to treat symptoms while the DO uses nutrition. Anyone needing a doctor should understand the difference and how he wants to be treated. Not sure if insurance will even covers treatment by the DO? Our system is based on drug medicine. Hippocrates tell us "Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food". Any doctor telling us that today would get jail time. The FDA does not allow any of that nonsense. The FDA made me very sick with their policies. I am not saying the doctors and dentist I saw were not nice. They were very pleasant and when I ask my dentist about the 60 minute article showing how amalgams were making people sick he told me it was a lie. Of coarse he had a mask on his face to protect himself from the mercury vapors while he was putting the poison in my mouth so I could not see if he was smiling but I had good insurance so he was very happy. From all the information I have now this dentist was either stupid or evil but it was all done with the approval of the FDA. My last trip to the emergency room all the doctors I saw were very nice to me but they could not put a name on what I had. The only good I got out of the visit was one of the specialist who examine me said I showed signs of MS in my lower body. I had never heard of MS and didn't know anything about it. Guess it was worth the two thousand dollar copay to get the information which set me on the road to getting my health back. From that point on I realized my health was in my hands. The only connection I have with the medical system now is the once a year blood test. These may be very nice people but they know nothing about health. Whether the MD's are evil or stupid is anybody's guess but once you get the information about what it takes to heal you do not need them. I was very sick and now I am well and it was not because of MD treatment. My PCP told me it was just old age, gave me some blood pressure medicine and told me to learn to live with it. That was a lie.

I am very lucky since I lived in a time before they had all the vaccinations. The only vaccination I can remember getting was small pox and polio. They didn't have all the vaccines back then. I remember when I was a kid and I didn't know anyone with asthma, autism or any of these autoimmune diseases. That has all changed. Look around and see all the sick children and ask why. There has to be a reason for this. Do you think these doctors are evil or stupid? Someone is going to have to take care of all these sick people and it will only get worse. They are coming out with more and more of these stupid vaccines and the body has a limit as to how much of this poison it can handle without getting sick. Like I told you Harry if you want the Ebola vaccine you can have mine. I am not falling for their stupid scam. I heard it said "Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me". The FDA, CDC and all the government agencies are like the little boy who kept crying wolf. After a while you do not believe them. It is all about the money with these jokers. Wish it wasn't true but those are the facts.

Again Wanna, another irresponsible statement from a very bitter person who has no qualifications! Telling readers they don't need a doctor for their health care is about as low as one can go. No wonder you credibility here is at zero!

It appears you are totally incapable of expressing an opinion without trashing medicine at the same time.
I remember when I was a kid and I didn't know anyone with asthma, autism or any of these autoimmune diseases.
Did you live in an underground cave?! Of course these diseases existed back then. Most times they were not diagnosed and if they were severe enough, the families just placed the child in an institution to get them out of the way.
]Like I told you Harry if you want the Ebola vaccine you can have mine. I am not falling for their stupid scam.
What a very sad and warped attitude you have Wanna! How can one live with all that bitterness?

I cured myself. What have you cured Harry? People need to understand healing these autoimmune diseases is about what they do not what the doctor does. The only thing the doctor can do is give them drugs and drugs kill people. Yes legally prescribed drugs kill people with the approval of the FDA. This a fact. They tell you this in their own magazine JAMA. Why would anyone take the chance when Hippocrates tell us "Let your food be your medicine and you medicine be your food". He has no reason to lie to us. He is telling the truth for those who want to hear it. For sure the FDA does not want to hear this. They ban the information and throw the doctors in jail who tell us this. It is very sad but if we get the real information we can get better. I am proof and I have no reason to lie.

Like I said Wanna, responses like you give indicate fanaticism and bitterness. What else can one call it when a person states and believes that doctors kill people intentionally, the government throws doctors in jail because they don't want others to hear them and because what happened to them personally should dictate what the rest of world should follow when it comes to medicine. Kind of scary! I believe you need help, Wanna and the sooner the better.

I think the bottom line to all this D.O. vs M.D. talk is:
1) There are HUGE differences in doctors.
2) Be aware that D.O vs M.D. may have significant bearing on the healing ability of a doctor, but it all depends on the particular doctor.

And the bottom line to all this is:
Find a great doctor that helps you to heal and get better.
