Caution on stem cell clinics

Post by David1949 »

Doctors say Florida stem cell clinic left 3 women blind
NEW YORK — Three women were left nearly or totally blind by a vision treatment at a stem cell clinic, in what doctors call a dramatic illustration of how risky such clinics can be

OK these women were being treated for macular degeneration not MS. But the point is that there are unscrupulous clinics that can put you at risk . Be careful before opting for treatment from any clinic that does not have FDA or IRB approval.

They say that they have "successfully conducted more than 7,000 stem cell procedures with less than 0.01% adverse reactions reported.”

simple math reveals that 0.01% of 7000 transplants is 0.7 adverse reactions which is less than 3 adverse reactions related to this news story alone

Luckily, Dr. Tisch has not had such complications.
