Closer to a blood test for MS

Post by frodo »

Neurofilament light chains (sNfL) are pieces of neurons that appear when they get broken. It seems that they appear in blood when MS attacks.

It is not specific to MS, but at least it serves to monitor the damage. It is much more realistic than the previous walking tests and EDDS scores that we had before.

Interpretation: These results support the value of sNfL as a sensitive and clinically meaningful blood biomarker to monitor tissue damage and the effects of therapies in MS. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
