I'm a veterinarian and have done a few stem cell treatments on animals. These were for musculoskeletal problems. As I understand it, traditionally bone marrow was used for stem cells. But then someone found that subq fat has 100 to 1000 times more stem cells than a similar volume of bone marrow. I collected fat the same way liposuction is done. Then put the fat in a centrifuge. That separates into three distinct parts. The middle part contains the stem cells. Then I collected that and injected it into a dog's stifle joint to treat it's torn ACL. One treatment cured him. I was thinking about doing it to myself because of a chronic Achilles tear but my last PRP treatment seems to have worked. I've read of it being successful in treating cardiac disease in people.
