Right to Try Act

Post by David1949 »

New legislation known as the "Right to Try Act" will allow terminally ill patients to try drugs that might help them even though the drugs have not been formally approved by the FDA.

Do you agree with that legislation?

Yes, why not? For someone that is terminally ill, they have nothing to loose.

In Australia we have "compassionate grounds" laws which allow access to unapproved treatments, and you don't need to be terminally ill to have access

Seems to me like the Australians have it right. But at least this legislation is a step in the right direction.
